I have a quiz ready to submit, but the system is telling me I need a hint for a fill-in-the-blank question. I have already provided a hint. Is there some special technique for giving hints that I need to follow?

It probably means in the hint window between the incorrect answers and the info section on the template. A hint could be the number of words or letters in the answer (never a bad idea) or something more substantial such as 'He was American' or 'Has four legs' or 'Invented by Edison'.

Some categories insist on a word count hint, which can then be followed by other helpful hints.

Is it the system telling you that or an editor? What is the exact error you are receiving?
