  • What promised to be a tight match was anything but as Warrington turned on the style to demolish the visiting injury-hit Wigan side. Huddersfield heaped more misery on Leeds when they overcame a first half deficit to run out 8 point winners and move off the bottom of the standings. Catalans travelled to Hull FC and, despite a late comeback, they fell 2 points short and saw their 7 match winning streak come to an end. Salford were deducted 6 points during the week for salary cap breaches but they gained 2 back with a high scoring win over Hull KR. In an ill-tempered match where 2 players were sent off and an further 3 were sinbinned it was a late Wakefield try that secured victory for them over Widnes, consigning the home team to a 6th consecutive loss. St Helens had to come from behind twice to defeat a brave and spirited but injury ravaged Castleford side.
  • ozzz2002 was running on default fuel while N-Bomb missed the first match with late tips.
  • It was a decent tipping week as we went 46/71 or a strike rate of 64.78%. It was helped by all of us tipping the St Helens win correctly. The hardest matches to tip were the Huddersfield and Wakefield victories but even then they were each tipped by 5 of us.
  • Last week I mentioned that PaulE was the only one who had not earned a weekly win and this week he went out and did just that, tipped 5/6 to earn the weekly win with wwe84. ElfTwinkle gained a 5th spoon in the last 7 weeks and was joined by Howie72 in tipping 2/6. I don't think I should mention that paper_aero is the only one without a spoon this season.
  • wwe84's weekly win sees him join paper_aero at the top of the standings to be the second person who has been in both 1st and 13th places, the other being illiniman14 N-Bomb n ow has sole possession of 3rd as Howie72 drops off the podium with his spoon. The deafault score by ozzz2002 sees him drop to 3 points adrift at the bottom.

  • After last week's defeat to Huddersfield, I hear you asking if it could get any worse for Leeds and the answer is....yes. This week they went down at home by 40 points to Castleford and remain firmly rooted at the bottom of the standings. St Helen's revival continues as they withstand a second half comeback by Salford to pull away again in the end. Wigan were almost unbeatable at home last year but this year it is different as they go down at home again, this time to Hull FC who move into 2nd place, knocking Wigan out of the top 4 in the process. Catalans moved equal with Warrington and Hull FC at the top of the Super League standings after surviving a nervy last 15 minutes to edge Huddersfield for their 9th win in the last 10 matches in all competitions. Hull KR legend, Roger Millward, passed away early in May and a video tribute was shown before the match started. In an emotional afternoon it was Hull KR who fittingly overcame Widnes. Despite having 3 players sinbinned, Wakefield shocked Warrington at home to win by 36-28 and keep the Wolves from moving 2 points clear at the top.
  • ozzz2002 and PaulE both missed the first match due to late tips.
  • We strugled this week as we went 33/76 or a stgrike rate of 43.42%. No match was perfectly tipped and not surprisingly, none of us thought Wakefield had a chance of beating Warrington.
  • Last week I mentioned that paper_aero was the only one who had not received a wooden spoon and this week...it remains the same as ozzz2002 took that honour with 1/6. Weekly wins went to wwe84 (his 8th in 15 rounds) and srini701 (his 3rd) with 4/6.
  • wwe84's 5th weekly win in the last 6 weeks (and 3rd in a row) sees him take sole possession of the lead with paper_aero now 1 point behind. They both have a decent gap to N-Bomb in 3rd place who is now 3 points behond paper_aero. Continuing to be cast adrift at the bottom is ozzz2002 who now drops to 4 points behind after his spoon.

  • Magic Weekend has arrived where all 6 matches are played over 2 days at St James' Park in Newcastle. Salford started proceedings with a scrappy but important 6 point win over Widnes who have now lost 8 in a row, Salford are trying to overcome a 6 point deduction for salary cap breaches. Table topping Warrington started match 2 well and jumped out to a 14-0 lead after 30 minutes but that was where the good times ended as 34 unanswered Castleford points saw them complete a stunning comeback. The final match on Day 1 saw Leeds lose their 12th match in 15 as they were dominated by Wigan to remain at the bottom of the table, Wigan joining a logjam at the top. Catalan Dragons let a 14-0 lead slip in the first match of Day 2 and it looked like the match would end in a draw at 24 all until Jacob Miller was successful with a 50 metre field goal attempt in the last couple of minutes. A third Magic Weekend upset happened when Huddersfield put 48 points past St Helens to continue their rise from the bottom of the standings. The final match saw Hull FC claim bragging rights in the Battle of Hull as they overcame Hull KR to move 2 points clear at the top of the table.
  • It was another struggle this week as we went 35/78 or a strike rate of 44.87%. Only Elftwinkle missed Wigan's big win over Leeds while none of us had a correct tip for either of the Castleford and Huddersfield uspet wins.
  • I had to take off a sock to count the number of weekly winners and it turns out to be 11 of us who tipped 3/6. It is easier to mention who did not get a weekly win and they are George95 with 2/6 and ElfTwinkle with 0/6, giving her the wooden spoon. Paper_aero remains the only one to not have received a spoon this season, could this continue until the final round?
  • As you can imagine with so many weekly winners the podium places remain the same as last week with wwe84 having a 1 point lead over paper_aero. There are changes at the bottom as Sypher jumps over ElfTwinkle and ozzz2002 closes the gap at the bottom to just 1 point after being 4 points behind last week.

  • Wigan did what they had to and no more as they left Castleford with a precious win to keep the pressure on league leaders Hul FC. Salford had a narrow 10-4 lead over Wakefield at half time before 3 tries in a 5 minute spell put them out of sight. Leeds travelled to Warrington and were in the game at half time when they trailed by just 6 points, however they collapsed in the second half as the Wolves mauled then to win by 34 points. Hull FC ensured they would remain on top of the standings at the end of the round as they accounted for St Helens, giving them 6 successive wins and 11 in the last 12 games. Catalans returned to winning ways when running in 6 tries to comfortably beat Hull KR in the south of France. Widnes trailed 16-0 to Huddersfield just before half time much to the frustration of their fans but at full time the fans were much happier as the home team scored 30 points in the second half to emerge with the win.
  • It was a much better tipping week as we went 59/78 or a strike rate of 75.64% with everyone going over 50%. We all tipped the Warrington and Catalans victories while the Widnes win over Huddersfield was the hardest to tip correctly but even then almost half of us got it right.
  • Last week we had 11 weekly winners while this week it was just 1 as George95 went perfect with 6/6 to also earn a bonus point, the 6th to do so this season. Last week 1 received a spoon while this week it was 7 as wwe84, ozzz2002, srini701, Dizart, Sypher, gtho4 and PaulE all tipped 4/6. Paper_aero maintains his spoonless start to the season while wwe84 breaks his streak of 4 weekly wins in a row.
  • A slight change at the top as paper_aero draws level again with wwe84 while at the bottom ozzz2002 falls back to 2 points behind ElfTwinkle.

  • It was all over after 20 minutes as Hull KR jumped out to a 20-0 lead at Wakefield and went on to put 50 points past the Wildcats to give their top 8 chances a boost. Castleford always had the match against Huddersfield under control when they won by 8 points, only 2 late Huddersfield tries making the scoreline more repectable. The last time Hull FC played Widnes they lost by 40 points and kept the coach out of the locker room, this time they won by 20 points and kept their lead in the standings. Catalans travelled to Leeds and ensured their hosts remained at the bottom of the table as they headed back to France with a 24-12 victory. Wigan kept the pressure on the top 4 with a narrow win away at Salford, once again showing they know how to win close matches. Warrington cruised to a comfortable win away to St Helens to keep in touch with Hull FC, it was only a late consolation try that kept the Saints from being held scoreless at home for the first time in 36 years.
  • It was a good tipping week as we went 54/78 or a strike rate of 69.23% though no game was perfect, the closest was Hull FC's victory which only ElfTwinkle did not predict. The hardest to tip correctly was Hull KR's win away to Wakefield where ony 3 of us got this correct.
  • There were 3 weekly winners this round as srini701, Howie72 and PaulE all went 5/6, only missing the Hull KR victory. It was back to a solo spoon with Dizart claiming this with 3/6. Paper_aero maintains his spoonless start to the season while srini701 climbs to his highest position this season in moving up to a share of 6th place.
  • No changes at the top with wwe84 and paper_aero keeping their 3 point lead. No changes at the bottom either as Sypher, ElfTwinkle and ozzz2002 all scored 4.

  • Widnes gave their top 8 chances a boost by beating Castleford away for only their 2nd win in the last 11 matches despite Paddy Flynn scoring a hat-trick of tries against his parent club (he is on a season long loan to Castleford from Widnes). Wigan were trailing Hull KR 18-8 with 17 minutes to go but came back to edge another match, they have by far the worst points for and against differential among the top teams but still manage to get the crucial wins. Leeds won for the first time in 7 games but still remain bottom when they beat Salford in atrocious conditions at Headingley, the biggest smile would be for them keeping the Reds scoreless after conceding a truck load of points n recent weeks. The defending champions are still 8 points behind 8th place with just 5 games left until before the league gets split. Jon Wilkin played his 350th game for St Helens but could not make it a happy occasion as his team went down to the Catalan Dragons in France, a 4th loss in a row. One try was enough for Wakefield to all but confirm a spot in the Super 8's when they defeated Huddersfield. The top of the table clash between Warrington and Hull FC turned out to be a scrappy affair but it was Hull that came out on top to strengthen their position at the top of the table, the Wolves dropping down to 4th by the end of the round.
  • gtho4 missed the first match due to late tips.
  • It was a disappointing tipping week after following the last 2 good rounds as we went just 32/77 or 41.55%. A shout out to ozzz2002 who was the only one who thought Widnes would beat Castleford, also to srini701 who was the same for the Hull FC victory over Warrington. Only a whisper to ozzz2002 as well as hehad misguided faith in Hull KR's ability to beat Wigan though to be fair, it almost happened.
  • PaulE made it back to back weekly wins as he went 4/6 while Sypher gains another spoon for his collection with 1/6. Paper_aero maintains his spoonless start to the season while Dizart drops to his lowest position all season in falling to a share of 7th place.
  • No changes at the top with wwe84 and paper_aero keeping their 3 point lead though N-Bomb did break out of the tie for third. No changes at the bottom either though ElfTwinkle and ozzz2002 edge a point closer to Sypher.

  • Wigan were without 9 regular players and it took until the 48th minute before they scored the only try of the game, a late field goal was added to give them victory over Widnes and 5 wins in a row. Huddersfield's coach was sacked during the week and the caretaker coach was given the perfect start to his reign but only just, they almost let a 31-18 lead slip late against Salford but held on for the narrowest of victories. Adam Swift was too quick for Hull KR as his 4 tries helped St Helens overcome a 4 point deficit at half time to run out comprehensive winners, the second half was 40-4 in the Saints favour. Despite putting in their most dominant performance of the season as the comfortably beat Wakefield, Leeds remain bottom of the table. As was expected, there was little between Warrington and Catalans, only a late penalty goal saw the Wolves edge their visitors. Castleford outscored Hull FC by 5 tries to 4 but it was the goal kicking that won the game for Hull as they were successful with 4 shots at goal to 1 by Castleford. the Tigers still had a chance to draw but the late sideline conversion hit the post.
  • We are back to a normal tipping week as we went 50/78 or 64.10%. Once again no games were tipped by all of us with the Saint Helens win being the closest with ony ElfTwinkle missing it. The hardest match to predict was Huddesfield's win where only N-Bomb and ElfTwinkle had the satisfaction of supporting the Giants.
  • N-Bomb decided it was time to make a push for overall honours and he did so in style with being the sole weekly winner with a perfect 6/6 and a bonus point. On the other hand, ozzz2002 decided it was not quite time to make a push to get off the bottom of the ladder as he took home the only spoon with 2/6. Paper_aero maintains his spoonless start to the season while Dizart continues to fall and drops to his lowest position all season.
  • We finall have a change at the top as N-Bomb's perfect round draws him level with wwe84 and paper_aero, these 3 have a 4 point buffer over the chasing pack. No changes at the bottom with Sypher, ElfTwinkle and ozzz2002 all maintaining their positions.

  • Hull FC's 10 game winning streak came to an end as they crashed to 10 point defeat at Huddersfield in yet another wet weather game that keeps the Giant's Super 8 ambitions alive. It had to happen again after so many close results in recent weeks, Hull KR and Warrington played out a 16 all draw. It was a more impressive result for Hull KR as they had a player sent off in the first half for punching and they left it late with a converted try 3 minutes from the end. Salford ended their 3 match losing streak with a tight home win over Castleford. Catalans played their first Super League match which they won 38-30 against Wigan and on the 10th anniversary they payed the same team again but this time the result was different as Wigan played well to spoil the party. A late field goal saw Widnes earn their first win at Headingly since 2002 and consigning Leeds to the Super 8 qualifiers. Saint Helens came out on top in a highg scoring match against Wakefield to keep their top 4 chances alive.
  • Just like Hull FC, we crashed back to earth as we only went 28/78 or 35.89%. No games were tipped by everyone and not surprisingly, no one picked the draw between Hull KR and Warrington.
  • In a tough round it was Sypher and ElfTwinkle who took home the weekly win with 4/6. The spoons went to wwe84, paper_aero, srini701 and gtho4 who all went 1/6. The spoon for paper_aero fills in that column and ruins the chance of a spoonless season for him.
  • With the spoons for wwe84 and paper_aero, N-Bomb takes a solo lead by 1 point. With the weekly wins for Sypher and ElfTwinkle, ozzz2002 falls to 5 points behind at the bottom.

  • Not long after learning their appeal against a 6 point deduction for salary cap breaches was dismissed, Salford's day got worse as they were destroyed by a rampant Warrington which ended any chance they had of making the top 8. Leeds knocked Hull FC off the top of the standings with 2 tries in the final 10 minutes but remain at the bottom themselves. Hull KR came from behind against Huddersfield to earn their 6th win of the season, a 72nd minute penalty goal proving to be the winner. A 72nd minute penalty goal also settled St Helens's game against Widnes in their favour. Wigan overcame having 2 players sinbinned and one sent off to scrape a last second win over Wakefied and move top of the table. Castleford ended their 4 game losing streak with a victory over Catalans which left the visting Dragons on a 4 game losing streak of their own.
  • We were back to a decent tipping round as we went 47/78 or 60.25%. We all started well by tipping Warrington's win in the first game but then crashed back to earth as only Sypher tipped Leeds to upset the league leading Hull FC, we also tipped Wigan's win perfectly.
  • The leader in this tipping competition did not get upset as he was the sole weekly winner with 5/8. After receiving his first spoon of the season last week, paper_aero makes it back-to-back spoons with 3/6 and is joined by wwe84, srini701, illiniman14, ElfTwinkle and PaulE.
  • N-Bomb's weekly win has him jumping out to a 3 point lead over wwe84 and paper_aero. At the bottom, ozzz2002 closes the gap to ElfTwinkle to 4 points but can he catch up?

  • Hull FC made no race of it in the 229th Hull derby when they jumped out to a 18-0 lead after 25 minutes, the loss for Hull KR consigned them to the middle 8's. Leeds held off a late Wigan fight back to win for the 4th time in 5 matches, they are now off the bottom of the table (have not finished bottom in their 136 year history) and Wigan missed the chance to move back to the top of the standings. Salford gave their chances of an extra home game in the middle 8's a boost when they beat Widnes, a late try sealing the game for them after being level at 12 all at half time. Catalans lost for the 5th time in a row when Wakefield travelled to France to edge them, Catalans had a chance to force a draw but the late conversion went wide. St Helens' drew level with Catalans in 4th place to give them a fighting chance of a top 4 finish and the extra home game when they comfortably won away at Huddersfield, the Giants now find themselves stuck at the bottom of the standings with 1 round left before the split. After the lead changed for the 5th time early in the second half, Warrington ran away with their game against Castleford.
  • A drop in our success rate this week as we went 41/78 or 52.56%. Like last week, we all started well by tipping Hull FC's win in the Hull derby but then crashed back to earth as only gtho4 tipped Leeds to upset league leading Wigan, from there it was a mixed bag including no one thinking Wakefield would win at Catalans.
  • We had a handful of weekly winners as wwe84, paper_aero, Sypher, Howie72 and gtho4 all tipped 4/6. ElfTwinkle had a bad round as she earned the only spoon with 1/6.
  • N-Bomb's lead is cut to 2 points over wwe84 and paper_aero. At the bottom, ozzz2002 closes the gap to ElfTwinkle to 2 points as he tries to storm up the table.

  • Leeds' late season surge continued as they triumphed over Hull KR to guarantee 4 home games in the Super 8's qualifiers. It was better for the other Hull side as Hull FC won at Salford to cement top spot heading into the Super 8's. St Helens went on a smash and grab raid at Wigan and left with a valuable 2 points to keep their top 4 aspirations alive. Both Wakefield and Castleford went into their match with depleted teams and it was the hosts looking good in being ahead 20-16 after an hour, however it was Castleford that finished strongly to run away with it. A late Warrington try secured a thrilling win for them over bottom-placed Huddersfield and leap-frogging Wigan into 2nd place. Widnes helped St Helens secure 4th place and an extra home game when they demolished the visiting Catalans, leaving the Dragons in 5th place after 6 losses in a row.
  • PaulE forgot to tip the first match while Sypher missed the same match with late tips.
  • An improvement in our success rate this week as we went 46/76 or 60.52%. It was helped by us all tipping Warrington to beat Huddersfield. The biggest shock was Wigan's home defeat to St Helens which only ozzz2002 was brave enough to pick.
  • Are we all sitting down? I don't want to be responsible for any injuries as a result of fainting but bottom-placed ozzz2002 with his St Helens pick has achieved a perfect round and bonus point, being the sole weekly winner with 6/6. Sypher took home the spoon with 2/5, a whole lot of us are breathing a sigh of relief that he missed the first match.
  • No change at the top as the first 3 all went 4/6 leaving N-Bomb still with a 2 point lead. At the bottom, ozzz2002's perfect round and bonus point sees him leap over ElfTwinkle and set his sights on Sypher and illiniman14.

  • St Helens made it 6 wins in a row as they defeated Warrington to open the Super 8 matches but it was close as Warrington were denied at the end when their winger put his foot into touch in the process of scoring a try. Hull FC looked tired after their Challenge Cup semi-final win over Wigan the previous week and Castleford took full advantage as they raced out to a 20-0 half-time lead and won comfortably. In April, Wakefield thrashed Wigan by 62-0 but this time Wigan got their revenge with an equally decisive 60-12 victory to move them level with Hull FC at the top. Last round Widnes easily beat Catalans at home while this round it was the Dragons who came out on top in France to break a 6 game losing streak. The second round of Super 8 matches began with Hull FC making no race of it away to Widnes in showing their dominant side. Castleford kept alive their top 4 hopes in beating Wigan, the first time in 4 attempts this season and denting Wigan's dreams of finishing top.
  • PaulE was running on default fuel this round.
  • The majority of us had a bad start to the round as only ozzz2002 picked St Helens to beat Warrington and only ElfTwinkle tipped Castleford to win away to leaders Hull FC. It improved from there with us all tipping Wigan's huge win.
  • ElfTwinkle did not like being overtaken by ozzz200s and she came back with a vengeance to earn a solo weekly win with 5/6. The spoon went to wwe84 who chose the wrong time to tip 2/6.
  • N-Bomb maintains his 2 point lead over paper_aero who will have to take some risks in the final few weeks to defeat him, choosing the same winning teams each week will not close the gap while wwe84 drops out of a tie for 2nd with his spoon. At the bottom ElfTwinkle draws back level with ozzz2002, it will be an almighty battle to avoid last place.

  • St Helens made it 7 wins in a row when they inflicted a 6th loss in 7 games on the Catalan Dragons, in doing so they moved 4 points clear of the Dragons in the race for the 4th semi-final spot. Warrington moved into second place with a comfortable win at Wakefield and are now just one point behind league leading Hull FC. Week three of the Super 8's started with Hull FC becoming the first team to cement a semi-final spot when they crushed Catalans by 44-0. Wigan overturned their recent poor form with an impressive 25-0 victory over an in form St Helens which stopped them from being overtaken by St Helens in the standings. Warrington left it late but they also cemented a semi-final spot when a last gasp try secured them the win over Castleford. In the battle of the Super 8 strugglers it was Widnes that came away with a huge win over Wakefield.
  • PaulE was running on default fuel while George95 missed the Hull FC vs Catalans game with late tips.
  • It was an impressive tipping week as we went 58/71 or 81.69% though only the Warrington win at Wakefield was tipped by everyone while Wigan's win at home to St Helens was the trickiest to tip with only 5 of us managing to tip this correctly.
  • A handful of perfect 6/6 rounds saw paper_aero, Dizart, illiniman14, N-bomb and Howie72 all take home the weekly win plus a bonus point. The spoon went to ElfTwinkle and George who went 3/6 and 3/5 respectively.
  • N-Bomb maintains his 2 point lead over paper_aero who has not been able to make any inroads in recent weeks, wwe84 is joined in a tie for third by Howie72. At the bottom ozzz2002 takes a one point lead over ElfTwinkle.

  • St Helens took a giant step towards a semi-final spot when they overcame an understrength visiting Hull FC team, the final score not being reflective of the efforts of Hull. Widnes put in a determined performance at Wigan and were rewarded with a narrow victory despite having 2 players sinbinned in the second half. Wigan had a chance to draw level at the end when awarded a penalty but turned down the shot at goal. Warrington lead 18-0 away in France before Catalans mounted a comeback to take the lead ony to fall short as a late Warrington try saw them emerge victorious and move to the top of the standings. Castleford Tigers eased to a comfortable win over Wakefield. Hull FC dominated the first hour at home to Wigan and lead 12-4 but 2 late tries saw the Warriors take the valuable 2 points in the standings. St Helens cemented their semi-final spot with a comprehensive win over Castleford, the only question now is which teams will host the semi-finals.
  • PaulE was running on default fuel while Sypher missed the 4 matches for the week beginning September 1st, as a result I have left him as default for round 27.
  • As usually happens when rounds are divided into multiple weeks and game starts are adjusted, a few of us missed a game or two through late or no tips.
  • Out of 59 counting tips (ignoring Sypher's last 2 tips as he missed the first 4) we got 34 correct or a strike-rate of 57.62%, the Castleford win at home over Wakefield saw only ElfTwinkle miss it while ozzz2002 was the only one who thought Widnes would beat Wigan at Wigan for the second time this season.
  • There was just the one weekly winner, ozzz2002 took the honours with 5/6. Two was the number that took home a wooden spoon and they went to paper_aero, Dizart and ElfTwinkle.
  • N-Bomb increases his lead over paper_aero to 3 points and almost has the competition sewn up, wwe84 did not like being joined on the podium so this week pushes Howie72 back to 4th place. At the bottom ElfTwinkle drops to 4 points behind ozzz2002 and PaulE.

  • Warrington maintained their position at the top of the table with an easy win over Widnes. Wakefield were their own worst enemy when bombing many good try scoring chances and in the end it told as they went down at home to Catalans by four points. In the penultimate round Warrington looked to have the League Leaders Shield sown up when leading Wigan 28-14 and the visitors having a player sent off. However no one told Wigan as they went on a scoring spree with 3 tries in 14 minutes to tie the score, followed by a field goal to take the lead and an intercept try almost at full time to cement the win. Denny Solomona set a Super League record by taking his try scoribg tally to 37 for the season as Castleford withstood a Catalans comeback to win away in France. Hull FC left it late but did enough to beat Wakefield and set up an exciting last round match against league leading Warrington, a win would leapfrog them over the Wolves. St Helens also did enough to overcome 11-man Widnes and remain within 2 points of Wigan and Hull FC with 1 round to go.
  • PaulE was running on default fuel while paper_aero did not enter tips the previous week for the Warrington vs Widnes and Wakefield vs Catalans matches.
  • The penultimate round of 6 matches saw us go 45/70 or a strike rate of 64.28% with 3 games being correctly tipped by everyone other than ElfTwinkle. The most difficult match to predict was Castleford's win away at Catalans with just 3 of us being able to do this.
  • There were two perfect rounds with both ozzz2002 and Sypher managing 6/6 and a bonus point. ElfTwinkle struggled with 1/6 and earned a hattrick of spoons.
  • N-Bomb increases his lead once again and now has a 5 point lead over wwe84 and Howie72 who both jumped over paper_aero, paper_aero falls off the podium for the first time this season. At the bottom ElfTwinkle remains 4 points behind PaulE.

  • Warrington gained revenge for their Challenge Cup final loss to Hull FC when the beat them in the final round of the Super 8's, the winner of this match was also going to lift the League Leaders' Shield for finishing top of the standings. The Wolves lead at half-time and unlike last week, did not allow their opposition back into the game. St Helens warmed up for their semi-final match against Warrington with a comfortable win over Wakefield, consigning the visitors to a 9th successive loss. Wigan secured second place with a dominant first half against Catalans though eased off after the break, this win sees them host Hull FC in the other semi-final. Castlefor ended their season in style when running in 7 tries to beat Widnes, 3 of these tries were scored by Denny Solomona to give him a super league season record of 42 tries.
  • As mentioned above, Warrington finished atop the standings with 43 points, followed by Wigan with 42, Hull FC and St Helens finished close behind on 40 points each. This result determined who received credit for their advanced tips in round 25.
  • PaulE was running on default fuel.
  • The fina round of 4 matches and 2 advanced picks saw us go 50/72 for a strike rate of 69.44%. This was helped by us all tipping St Helens to beat Wakefield. The most difficult match to predict was Warrington's win away at Hull FC though 7 of us still got this correct. The trickiest point to earn was seeing into the future and picking Wigan to finish second in the standings.
  • There were two perfect rounds again with both srini701 and Sypher managing 6/6 and a bonus point, this is back to back perfect rounds for Sypher to end the season. The final sppon went to paper_aero with 2/6, helped by his strange pick of Leeds to finish second when they did not even make the Super 8's.
  • N-Bomb ran away with the tipping competition in the end as he increased his lead to a season leading 5 points in the final round. Howie72 and wwe84 finished in a tie for second but it was Howie72's superior weekly win/wooden spoon differential of +7 vs + 3 that earned him the silver, paper_aero was the only other peson to break into triple figures and finsihed 4th. ElfTwinkle finished at the bottom but the silver lining is there is just one direction to go in next season.
  • The end of the season awards are as follows:
    Medallists

    1st:N-Bomb
    2nd:Howie72
    3rd:wwe8400

  • And with that, the season comes to an end. N-Bomb made it back-to-back victories (can anyone stop him next year?) while Howie72 makes it a runner-up hat-trick and wwe84 makes the podium for this first time. Will anything change in 2017? Tune in then to find out.
  • For those who are interested, Warrington went on to beat St Helens 18-10 in the first semi-final and Wigan accounted for Hull FC in the second seni-final by a score of 28-18. The final was a hard fought and close match with Wigan coming out on top by 12-6 over Warrington.
