February 29th is coming soon and I was always told that Ladies could propose on that day, although some seem to think the proposal should take place on Valentine's Day. Also, apparently, if the Man refuses he has to buy her some silk. Whatever the right thing is, please think about this:
Who would you choose to propose to and why? They can be presumed to be still alive even if in fact they are not.
You can also assume , for this, that you are unmarried (we don't want anyone done for bigamy). Males. who would you accept if they proposed to you? Be careful. Choose wisely.

Can we also, the the sakes of this thread, presume that the man is single even if we know that they are/were not?

Ladies............please form an orderly queue, each may make an offer and I will seriously give consideration to each. PLEASE no pushing, shoving, gouging, kicking, screaming or other unladylike behavior. blush

What? There isn't a queue..............oh! frown

There once was a girl whom at the time I worshiped..........if truth is known I probably still carry a torch for her to this day..........it was a long time ago............1960.......but...... cry

Assuming that we don't have to worry about 'him' already being taken then really there isn't much doubt that I will propose to dear George, Clooney rather than our very own gtho4. Why you ask? Because he is dishy and I fancy him, what better reason is there? wink

I just told an old friend on Facebook I was in love after she posted yet another amazing photo of herself, and rather than being shocked she was delighted. I'm preparing myself now... (of course I'd accept).

Isn't it crazy that in the 21st century women are still waiting to be proposed to and this February 29th thing is even a thing!

I will be attempting (probably in vain) to free my daughters of the notion that they need to wait for a man to do anything at any time not just once every four years.

It's a long, long story. She was my friend's girlfriend in the mid 80s, and once when we went out together it seemed she was showing more interest in me than him (it was mutual believe me). She did dump him soon after so I called that one right, but as I'd known him a long time and knew he'd probably object I left it alone for over a year, then asked him if it was OK and he said yes, and I'd waited so long to ask her out she'd lost interest.

Then like all from that era I knew she got married, and some time later divorced. I still see her every few years as he's still friends with her and we both meet at his parties, but I thought she had a new boyfriend and didn't think I had a chance by now regardless. She looks just the same as she did then (as does my other married favourite I met last year after 30 years who I'd known much longer) and I have never had my feelings wear off since then for either, in fact quite the opposite.

David, forgive me but why are you not telling HER all this , and not us. Surely nothing venture nothing gain ? Is it not worth a try?

He is half Irish after all.
I researched very intensely here and found that the Irishmen really are Handsome and Romantic. So I had to choose Mr C inspite of seeming predictable in my choice.

Excuse me, I was there first! You stick to David Tennant, save yourself the embarrasment when dear George has to refuse you because he has already accepted me. A pair of silk gloves will be winging their way to you.
