Rules: Pick 3 drivers, from three different teams* for each race.

*New this year

Points will be awarded based on the points your picks receive for the race.

For each race, five drivers will be designated as 'Seeded Drivers'. Only half-points will be awarded for these drivers.

Default scores will be based on your picks for the previous race, with half-points for seeds applying.

Might become interesting if we can tweak something in this comp...change the points system or maybe have one or two wildcards who are not seeded and score us their points...the entire F1 itself has become too predictable now Please think about it.

The seedings were added for that very reason - Michael Schumacher was winning almost every race and the seeding shook it up a bit.

The points system has to be based on the real one, otherwise the calculations become a bit hard to handle.

How would you propose the wild cards would work?

I have toyed with the idea of restricting picks to one per team, so if you pick Hamilton you can't pick Rosberg, for example, or perhaps offering double points for a pick from a lower-ranked team.

I like the first idea - it's not always so obvious who is likely to finish 3rd-6th.

The second part might be trickier as how would you define a "lower-ranked team" - championship position? Who finished last in the previous race? The latter option could just end up handing out double points to frontrunners who ran into trouble in a single race.

Giving double points for Haas or Manor might also be a pointless (sorry) exercise if they never score points anyway - and even if they did score 2 instead of 1 for 10th or 4 instead of 2 for 9th, that doesn't provide a significant difference in the same way that potentially losing 12.5 points for a seeded first place does.

So, I read that as a vote for picking from three different teams, yes?

I'm with Fifi and ozzz. Can't pick two from the same team.

Sounds good, we'll try that then. Keep the seedings? (I'm inclined to do so.)

I like this idea Liz....have seedings (2 from a team is possible) but only 1 driver from a team in our picks...that way people will have to pick at least 1 non-seeded driver !

Having to pick at least 1 non-seeded driver could be another option, but it wouldn't come directly from the 'pick from three different teams' rule

Restricting picks based on seeds is problematic for anyone who wants to pick early (say, before going on holiday) and for default runners, of whom we usually have a few.

I think "one per team", with seedings remaining as they have been, could shake things up a bit.

I'm guilty of defaulting some, I know, but restricting on seeds alone, while it is a decent idea, it's not as feasible an option.



I like this idea immensely.
