(I know looney_tunes and Kyle are aware of this, but I'm posting per l_t's suggestion, in case this is a matter Terry should be aware of / look into) To put it simply, when I go through the process of attempting to start a new quiz, the "Create Quiz" page (where I enter the title and number of questions) has no template options. There's supposed to be a choice of Standard or Matching [or Photo, if I had "License to Shoot"], but instead this is all I see: https://www.flickr.com/photo.gne?short=FD2ykGNo template option at all. I was to understand that anyone and everyone is able to write with the new Match Quiz format, so I'm not sure if this is a bug, or something else. Just to note, I have written two quizzes before (albeit many years ago), so I'm not a first-time author. If any other info is needed, just let me know. Thank you!

I also thought it was open to everybody from the get-go; just haven't heard back from Terry about it since we discussed it. Hopefully he sends word down.

That was my thought, too. Terry had to remove some coding when my answer in an early match quiz that included an ampersand wasn't being treated properly, since its use in the FITB questions is distinct and different. Maybe this can be changed, too.

I guess the main question (for me, anyway) is, were Match quizzes intended to have that prerequisite, and if not, can it be "overridden" (to allow anyone to use the Match format)? I think the intent was always to open it up for everybody, but we faced a few hitches during creation because of how it was tied to the FITB coding (as LT pointed out). That said, hopefully Terry jumps in.

Oh, I see. The system considers Match format a FITB, which requires 5+ quizzes before authors can use it. I wonder if Match quizzes were designed to be [treated as] FITBs due to programming / coding considerations. yep, that's exactly what happened when he created Match quizzes. He over-layed the existing FITB format; and the 5 quiz limit was an unintended consequence. It's now a coding issue which, hopefully, Terry can address without re-inventing the wheel e.g. by using the Match Quiz flag to remove the existing 5 quiz pre-requisite.
