TriviaFan22, thanks for the reminder about the Everything Challenge. It is one that I will probably never get, but I can try to beat my own personal best, and it does make you go through all the site has to offer. I'd forgotten it was there.

Shuehorn, the design is so pretty on that badge. It also is very tough to earn like you say. It's not for everyone but I think it's been overlooked, less than 200 wins in over 3 years is a bit low. I challenge you to keep at it because I think for many competitors it's doable.

Well I did say that two of the previous seven days had not been speed contests but let me attempt to use some numbers to dissuade you from the view that just because you do not know everything about UK trivia that vast numbers of players on the site don't either. There are a LOT of UK based players and also players with enough Uk knowledge to answer questions on these quizzes quickly and accurately. My team happens to contain enough players based on the Uk to populate the top 7 I will grant you, but it has not meant that we win or even come close.

The two UK topics that came up in the past week were U.K. Geography and Mixed UK.

The geography one comes closer to being specialist but last week we got a team score of 1425 and came 7th (record is 3rd). So there were 6 whole teams able to beat our score that was generated by 7 players based (or previously based) in the UK. Perhaps it's not a true speed contest that one but it's certainly one where everybody is getting 15 correct for many teams Heroes positions and therefore is not specialised, it is still very general.

Then Mixed UK. This one is most definitely a speed contest. Last week we came 8th (record is 7th) with a team score of 1442! 7 other teams were averaging over 1442! Again, it shows the sheer quantity of UK based players. I did notice on the day that some of the teams ahead of us only had maybe half of their scoring players UK based too so plenty of players from elsewhere were capable of crazy times in that category.

If enough players are expert then it becomes a race. That is the case with the Uk topics just as it is with some of the US topics because it is a team game.

Yesterday was Authors and their works, my team came 12th with a team score of 1445! The top five teams in our bracket ranged from 1456 to 1452! The best team in small averaged 1462! Speed required!

Today is movies by year, our best ever ranking is 11th in a topic where we have had an average of 1439! I'm willing to bet the top teams once again are around 1450 average today. Speed will be required!

Terry,

Is it possible to do anything about the repetition? We've now had War History three times within the past 30 days (8th June, 22nd June and today).

Could there be a minimum time between a topic coming back again? Say 1 month (preferably 2)?

Today it's crafts, last seen on June 23rd, that day was the first time our team had ever played Crafts but still, why so soon?

I know I'm like a broken record or a dog with a bone but here I am again.

Judaism twice in August
2000s music twice in August

There are so many topics why do we need to see the same ones so quickly? (Before anyone points it out, I know we've only seen Judaism three times in total, ever, but I'd still rather not see the same ones so soon)

Could something be changed with the Team Heroes "picker" so that it cannot select a repeat for at least, say, two months? Three?

Thanks.

The daily featured duel topic is Dogs, Heroes is Cats, the current Expert game is Fish and Piece of Cake is Animals.

Do our pets want to tell us something? *tinfoil hat*

Yes, humans are animals, but I often think my pets are smarter than me grin

My feline bosses have a better life than myself. No worries about work or household chores, each day a marvelous meal (today is salmon)...

I do not think that my pets are smarter than me: I know they are.
