o  The rules for this comp are simple, and are the same as last year and the year before.
o  Pick 10 horses in the order you think they'll finish, 1st to 10th.
o  Points: for any horse out of the 10 you've picked, which finishes in the first five places:
1st : 10 pts
2nd : 6 pts
3rd : 3 pts
4th : 2 pts
5th : 1 pt
o  The order of your picks will be used as a tiebreaker to separate any dead-heats or ties.
o  If two players have identical picks x10, whoever posts first wins the tie-breaker.

The race starts on Saturday 7th May 2016 at 4:35pm. Tips close on
the hour at 4:00pm with a short period of grace of a few minutes.

If your horse is scratched, so be it (we've got half the field covered with our 10 picks). there were no upsets this year. The bookies saw their satchels emptied at Churchill Downs as all the favourites came home. If all of us were at the track we may have needed a wheelbarrow to carry our winnings out of the track, lol tie-breaker countbacks were required for every position except 12th to 14th. there was a seven-way dead-heat for the gold medal .. that's half the field! three of those seven had the hide to pick the first three across the line as their 1st, 2nd and 3rd picks! We needed tie-breaker #4 to determine the three medallists. in what is surely a first for any leg of the FT Triple Crown, since the 1st back in 2003, N-Bomb won gold as he picked the first four across the line as, wait for it, his 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th pick! Howie72 won silver as he picked 4th with pick #7 vs. pick #8 for 22crows. the defending titleholder, Sypher, didn't get to the track this year. Last year's silver medallist was Howie72, which makes it back-to-back silver .. in fact it's three back-to-back silvers as he also collected silver in 2014! Before that N-Bomb, this year's winner, won back-to-back silver in 2013 and 2012. this was the 14th running of the Kentucky Derby comp .. the defending titleholder has never won this, and buck5ley is the only one to have won this twice (he won it in 2005 and then again in and 2007). that completes the second leg of the FT Triple Crown. The third leg, the Melbourne Cup, will be run on the first Tuesday in November. we will wait until next year to see if anyone can win the FT Triple Crown. The three medallists in the Grand National [ George95-illiniman14-gtho4 ] did not make the podium in the Kentucky Derby.
