Hi everyone,
I know that Cleopatra's son by Julius Caesar was murdered on the orders of Octavian and that Cleopatra Selene (her daughter by Marc Antony) was married to King Juba of Mauritania but what happened to her two sons by Marc Antony, Alexander Helios and Ptolemy Philadelphos, after Cleoptra's death?

the discussion forum at this site http://ce.eng.usf.edu/pharos/alexandria/History/cleo.html
is devoted to Cleopatra, and hasn't come up with an answer to your question ..
quote:
Of Cleopatra's two sons by Antony, I have come across nothing that mentions of their destiny after they were taken to Rome. However, in her book, "Cleopatra's Daughter," Beatrice Chanler ventured to say that Alexander Helios and Ptolemy Philadelphos were murdered on Herod's orders while they were in a scholastic mission to Greece, a few years after Cleopatra Selene left for Numidia with her husband, Juba II.
and there's much the same theory on this site:
quote:
. No one knows what happened to Alexander Helios and Ptolemy Philadelphus. They may have been murdered at the order of King Herod I of Judea. www.irinasworld.com/history4.html
