Come one, come all to the Roland Garros courts in beautiful Paris, France, home of the French Open. Will gtho4 (women's) and illiniman14 (men's) retain their titles, or will someone new etch their name on the gold medal? The only tipper to etch their name on any back-to-back was our own ElfTwinkle in 2007/2008 (she is also the only one to win twice). Tipping threads are up, but the draws will not be announced until May 15.

- Should we start with Garbine Muguruza winning her first Grand Slam title or with Serena Williams being stopped for the second Slam in a row in the finals?
Or should we start with 4 unseeded women making it to the quarterfinals, which effectively tore our picks to shreds? Or do we start instead with N-Bomb winning his first-ever title here in any grand slam women's comp? or maybe paper_aero missing a comp here after ages?? - It turned out to be a very eventful French Open this year with lots of firsts and records. Garbine Muguruza became only the 3rd Spanish woman ever, and the first in 18 years (after Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario in 1998) to win any Grand Slam title. Serena Williams did well to reach the finals, but for the second Slam in a row now, she has been stopped from getting closer to Steffi Graf's mark of 22 Grand Slam singles titles. The feisty lady promised to continue her quest....who's to say she will or won't surpass Graf's mark?
- 4 unseeded women made it to the last 8...2 of them ranked outside the top 100, the first time in a Slam it has happened...world number 58 Kiki Bertens became the first woman from Netherlands to make it to the last 4 of a Grand Slam since Betty Stove did it in Wimbledon in 1977
- N-Bomb had won 2 Grand Slam comps in all these years, both in the men's sections (2011 Wimbledon and 2015 US Open)...Apart from one bronze in 2011, he was never among the medals in the French Open...But he finally ticks off one more in his wins column by taking home this year's comp, riding on one solid pick....he will be officially awarded his title only if he posts here what made him pick the 60th ranked Yelena Putintseva to reach the quarters
.... for the record, Putintseva had never gone beyond the 2nd round in any slam before, nor had she a splendid clay court season coming into the French (Kiki Bertens at least had a 10 match winning streak going!) - Dizart had the most number of right picks amongst us (7/15
) and that helps him land the silver. ozzz2002's pick of Sam Stosur sees him take the bronze despite getting only 4/15 picks right The tie-breaker scores separated illiniman, ElfTwinkle and srini701, while George95 scored all his points courtesy of Serena Williams and landed the year's spoon.
