After two rounds no-one has a 100% win record and LeoDaVinci is the only one with a 100% loss record. Last year we had three and three respectively.
This leaves us with a six-way tie out front (it was a five-way tie last week); and it's just a four-point spread top to bottom.
None of those six face each other in the next round. Let's see how close we'll be after three rounds.

Last week we had six undefeated runners. This week we're down to three .. and at the other end one player has a 100% loss record. Two players scored 8 goals and lost, and another two scored 8 and drew .. all four have their names up in lights in the FT-PL Record Book (see post below this one). This leaves us with a two-way tie out front (last week it was a six-way tie out front) and it's now a seven point spread top to bottom (it was a four-point spread last week). We have a break this weekend for FIFA internationals and World Cup qualifiers. The next round, FT-PL < 4 > Sat 10 Sep, will see two in the first six face each other: paper_aero and srini701. |

Last week we had three undefeated runners. This week we still have three, but none of them are our leader .. paper_aero scores his 3rd win in four and finds himself all alone at the top of the pile.
The three undefeated players have along way to go to break the record set by PaulE in the 2013-14 season (12 games undefeated from the start of the season).
At the other end LeoDaVinci, the only player with a 100% loss record, wins his first game and moves off the bottom rung of the ladder, from 16th to 12th .. the four below him at the rear of the field are still looking for their first win of the season. The all time record is 13 games without a win from the start of the season, set by ozzz2002 ten years ago way back in the 2006-07 season.
The eight FT-PL games split 4 draws and 4 wins, to leave us with a seven point spread top to bottom (same as last week). It was a four-point spread the week before that.

Only two players retained their spot from last week: ElfTwinkle and PaulE. The rest of us were playing musical chairs.

Last week we had three undefeated runners. This week we're down to two (illiniman14 and gtho4) as ozzz2002 was beaten by PaulE, and these two replace paper_aero out front. At the other end nasty_liar & dg_dave both won, leaving Howie72 and George95 as the only players still looking for their first win of the season. New high: illiniman14 (again), LeoDaVinci (again) & PaulE. New low : wwe84 (again), srini701, Sypher & Howie72. The eight FT-PL games gave us seven wins and just the one draw, creating a mammoth edition of musical chairs .. no-one kept their spot from last week. For the benefit of LeoDaVinci, and those of us who are interested: the last time Watford beat Manchester United was 30 years and two days ago, on 16th September 1986, when Watford won 1-0 at home. |

Sheesh, tough competition! I had to get 8 just to get a win! Some weeks, you may only need 3. Other weeks, 8 will give you a loss...I've been a victim of that twice! 18th Nov 2006 Sypher v gtho4 (8-9),

then later that month on 25th April 2009 Howie72 v dg_dave (8-10)
& yet again the following week on 2nd May 2009 LeoDaVinci v Howie72 (10-8)

iliniman14 loses his first game of the season, to bring an end to his undefeated run and his tenure at the top of the pile. N-Bomb takes over front-running duties. At the other end Howie72 wins his first game of the season, to being to an end his win-less streak and his run at the rear of the field.
N-Bomb scored three goals and won, and at the other extreme wwe84 scored five and lost.
As the ten FA Premier League games produced six draws, whoever faced ElfTwinkle was odds-on favourite to lose, and that's exactly what happened .. wwe84 was thumped 8-5 by the perennial draw-specialist ElfTwinkle, whose ten picks were Arsenal away, Chelsea away, Liverpool away, Watford at home and the remaining six were draws.
She struck pay first with the lot except for the Spurs win at home over the 100% Manchester City (picked by three), and the draw at Watford (which no-one picked). She somehow picked Stoke City to come away from Old Trafford with a draw .. Stoke were one rung off the bottom, win-less and had scored just 4 goals all season!
New high: LeoDaVinci (again) and N-Bomb.
New low : ozzz2002 (again).
Back in Round 3, LeoDaVinci was running last 7 points behind the leader, having started the season with three back-to-back losses. In a remarkable turn-around, he's now won four straight and finds himself in 3rd place just 4 pts behind the leader.

yea, they don't add downwards to 34-29 either .. they're last week's scores! Now fixed, by entering the scores for week 9. I think the penalty-shootout excitement hadn't worn off  The game was shown live downhere.
