Rules: 1. One point for a correct tip. 2. The deadline will normally be kickoff of the first game of the week. If games are separated into multiple days, no tips will be accepted for a day after the first game in our comp has kicked off that day. 3. Late starters come in at the lowest score, or lowest active tipper if the lowest tipper has not tipped for four consecutive weeks. 4. Default score will be the away teams, or in the case of Neutral Site games, the team listed first. 5. Ties at the end of the season are broken by number of HoFs and if still tied HoF minus Spoons Bonus points: 1. One point will be awarded for a solo pick (or one of two if 10+ tippers). 2. One point will be awarded for picks where the winning team was more then a 10 point underdog. **Lines will be posted on Wednesday or Thursday each week and be taken from http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/, preferably from the sportsbook.ag line** 3. One point if a player scores 13+/16. 4. A tipper is ineligible for bonus if player picks fewer than 2 home teams. 5. A tipper is ineligible for bonus if player tips fewer than 2 underdogs (in pick 'em games both teams count as underdogs). Weeks 15 and 16 use Bowl Games to make up that weeks tipping schedule. Some Bowl games don't make the schedule so that we can keep with the 16 game per week set-up and the National Championship Game will not be on the schedule since the teams for that game won't be known until the first round of the Playoff format have taken place.

The college football season is back into the swing of things, and Dizart and Howie72 wasted no time in going out to the top of the leaderboard. Both picked up a bonus point (Dizart by taking 10-point underdog Wisconsin and Howie72 by being only 1 of 2 to take Texas). They both managed to outpace ElfTwinkle, who picked 2 fewer games, but also picked up 2 bonus points by also taking both of the winners mentioned previously. gtho4 also picked up 2 bonus points, both from taking Houston in their upset win. wwe84 and dg_dave shared spoons this week, but wwe84 picked up 2 bonus points as well by taking 13-point underdog Northern Iowa over Iowa State.
It was an historic opening weekend for college football, as there were 4 top-25 matchups and 4 other high-profile games. The marquee matchups were headlined by #1 Alabama’s thrashing of #20 USC 52-6 and #15 Houston’s 33-23 upset over #3 Oklahoma. #18 Georgia’s new head coach Kirby Smart debuted with a 33-24 victory over #22 North Carolina. On Monday, #4 Florida State made a furious 32-6 second half comeback to beat #11 Mississippi 45-34.
#2 Clemson played sluggishly but ended with a 19-13 win over Auburn. Wisconsin entered Saturday as a 10-point underdog to #5 LSU, and left with a 16-14 victory, shooting them up to #10 in the rankings. Unranked Texas faced a similar scenario against #10 Notre Dame, and a thrilling two-overtime game later, the Longhorns came out the victor 50-47. #16 UCLA was also bitten by the upset bug, dropping to Texas A&M 31-24 in overtime.
Three spoonless streaks remain intact, topped by George95’s streak of 83 consecutive weeks – the length of time he has been a part of this competition. Should he keep it up, he will surpass ozfei’s record of 94 weeks in week 13.

Howie72 was tied for the lead last week, but it appears he much prefers to be up there all alone. Hitting 14 picks this week, he picks up a near perfect bonus and heads out to 3 points above the rest of the field with his second weekly win. wwe84 was on the other side of the coin this week, picking up his second wooden spoon. Dizart drops out of the top spot despite picking 11 correct games, and now enters a tie for third.
Everyone was able to get a point out of taking Notre Dame and South Florida. Those were the only games where the entirety of the field picked the same team. gillyharold and ozzz2002 picked up the only bonus points this week with the 2-overtime upset of Arkansas over #15 TCU. ozzz2002 attempted several other solo bonuses, but was disappointed with Kentucky’s poor performance, and was joined by wwe84 in watching Arkansas State falter to Auburn. wwe84 was also 4 points from a bonus, being the only tipper to take Washington State in their close loss to Boise State. He also joined gillyharold by taking Virginia Tech, who gave up an early lead to fall to #17 Tennessee. gillyharold was alone in taking Purdue in their failed effort against Cincinnati.
#2 Clemson turned some heads in the wrong way by playing a close game with Troy, but pulled out a 30-24 victory. #9 Georgia did the same, giving up 10 points in the 4th quarter to barely take down FCS Nicholls State 26-24. The game of the week featured #22 Oklahoma State at home against Central Michigan. Up 27-24, Oklahoma State wanted to run out the final seconds of the game by throwing the ball out of bounds. The officials called a penalty of intentional grounding and gave Central Michigan an untimed down around midfield... which not the rule and the game should’ve been over right there. Instead, Central Michigan threw a hail mary towards the end zone, and the original receiver flipped the ball back to a trailing receiver, who snaked his way in for the touchdown, giving the Chippewas a 30-27 victory.

A wild day of college football left Howie72 out in front by the same margin, while those behind him shifted around mightily. Four weekly wins were handed out, headlined by gillyharold, who not only picked 12 correct, but also came away with a solo bonus. Dizart did not grab a win this week, but a solo bonus kept pace with N-Bomb’s win as they are tied for second. On the far end, ElfTwinkle shares a spoon with wwe84, who picks up his third in as many weeks. George95 lived a little dangerously this week, putting his 84-week spoonless streak on the line and remaining safe by only 1 point, but it survives to 85. Dizart and gillyharold both earned their bonus points taking the underdog #12 Michigan State to win, while ozzz2002 and wwe84 earned theirs with California’s upset victory.
And what a wild day of college football it was. The first group of games on the day included a top-10 matchup of #10 Louisville hosting #2 Florida State. Early in the second quarter, we thought it might be a good game as Louisville led 14-10, but 49 unanswered points later, Louisville finished off a complete shellacking and ended up winning 63-20 as the backups let it become a little closer. #1 Alabama came into this week having lost 2 straight to #19 Mississippi, and all the pundits expected a large Alabama victory. Late in the second quarter, the Crimson Tide found themselves down 24-3 and facing three straight years of heartbreak. Luckily, they were able to close it to 24-17 thanks to two quick scores, and ended with a strong second half, winning 48-43.
#3 Ohio State had no trouble taking down #14 Oklahoma 45-24. #4 Michigan struggled early and found themselves down 21-7 early to Colorado, but finished well and won 45-28. #9 Wisconsin played winless Georgia State, and played very sluggish to the point where early in the fourth quarter, the Panthers scored a touchdown and found themselves up 17-13. Wisconsin would respond with a touchdown and held off their opponents to win 23-17. #11 Texas, who, like Wisconsin, started the year unranked, entered a shootout with California that led to a 35-33 halftime score. Surprisingly, nobody scored in the third quarter, but Texas took the lead 40-35, then gave it up with a 2-point conversion to go down 43-40, and hit a field goal to tie it at 43. A Cal touchdown put them up 50-43, and on their final drive, the California running back broke free to the end zone, seemingly putting the game to rest, but he dropped the ball just short of the goal line – and despite a Texas player picking up the ball shortly thereafter, the referees determined too much time had passed and the play had been whistled dead, meaning Cal got to keep the ball and run out the clock to win 50-43.
#12 Michigan State went to #18 Notre Dame as the underdog, but left the victor. After going down 7-0, the Spartans scored 36 straight and looked to be waltzing to victory. They ended up giving up 21 straight, but still won 36-28. #13 Iowa ended the Big Ten’s successful streak, facing 2015 FCS champion and current FCS #1 team North Dakota State. The Bison had won their previous 5 games against FBS opponents, and it continued on, as they hit a field goal as time expired to win 23-21. #16 Georgia found themselves down to a 4th-and-10 down 27-21 against Missouri, but somehow converted it into a touchdown to win 28-27. #20 LSU went up 23-3 against Mississippi State as a 14-point favorite, but in the second half let it slip away to barely win 23-20. #22 Oregon went to Nebraska as a 3-point underdog, and ended up losing by 3 35-32.

Last week, Howie72 led by 3 points, and this week he still does... sort of. N-Bomb joins him at the top of the leaderboard after a performance that gave him a bonus point and a weekly win. N-Bomb is joined in that respect with gillyharold, who moves up from 11th to 5th, and dg_dave, who vaults up into the main group of tippers. ozzz2002 picks up his first spoon of the season, missing out on several solo or near-solo picks that would have netted several bonuses otherwise.
ozzz2002 put himself in position for 4 potential solo picks. Penn State would’ve netted him an upset bonus as well, but got blown out 49-10 by #4 Michigan. He and Dizart tried for an extra point with Georgia Southern, but Western Michigan held serve at home to remain perfect. He joined yoyoandcigs with Oklahoma State, but they fell to #16 Baylor 35-24. Finally, he met with ElfTwinkle to take #12 Georgia, but they were trounced by #23 Mississippi 45-14. dg_dave was let down by #17 Arkansas in their loss to #10 Texas A&M, gtho4 missed out by taking South Florida in their loss to #13 Florida State, but gillyharold and yoyoandcigs barely missed a point in Pittsburgh’s 1-point loss to North Carolina. Everybody missed out on a solo and underdog bonus by not picking Duke over 21-point favorite Notre Dame.
In the game of the week, #11 Wisconsin simply crushed #8 Michigan State 30-6. #9 Washington came very near disaster, winning in overtime over Arizona. #14 Tennessee found themselves down 21-3 at halftime, but a late surge left them on top 38-28 over #19 Florida. Auburn finally won a big game 18-13 over #18 LSU as a game-winning touchdown was found to come after the clock expired, and after the game LSU head coach Les Miles was fired.

N-Bomb has another spectacular week, this time missing only 1 game this week. He ends up with 16 points after his bonus point, and has now gone from down 3 to up 4 in a matter of 2 weeks. Sypher has mostly kept pace, losing 1 point on the leader. Howie72 now has 3rd place alone after leading for the first 4 weeks. There is a 3-point gap between third and the rest of the field. gillyharold and ozzz2002 shared a spoon this week, while George95 keeps his spoonless streak alive. Friday gave us our first top-10 matchup and upset, as #10 Washington blew out #7 Stanford 44-6. The game of the weekend had #5 Clemson up 28-10 at halftime over #3 Louisville, which turned into a 36-28 Louisville lead by the middle of the fourth quarter. However, Clemson got back up 42-36, and on their final drive, the Cardinals failed to convert on a 4th down by half a yard at the Clemson 3, earning their first loss. #4 Michigan held off #8 Wisconsin 14-7 in a fairly slow game.
#11 Tennessee and #25 Georgia gave us the finish of the day. Georgia heaved a 47-yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds left to go up 31-28. Unfortunately, they had an excessive celebration penalty, moving their kickoff back 15 yards. On the kickoff, Georgia was offside, adding 5 yards to the return, giving Tennessee one last chance inside the 50. They took advantage of it, hitting their own Hail Mary and winning 34-31. #17 Michigan State, #18 Utah, and #19 San Diego State all fell to unranked teams. Oklahoma finally got a big win over #21 TCU, but their rival #22 Texas fell to unranked Oklahoma State.

N-Bomb takes a slight step back this week as his lead is halved to 2, with both Howie72 and Sypher in hot pursuit as they both put up double digit numbers. Dizart picks up a weekly win, just missing out on a near perfect bonus. ozzz2002 picks up a spoon with only 4 points. wwe84 only hit half of the games correctly, but came out with as many points as Dizart, with 3 solo bonus picks as well as 1 underdog bonus.
It was an interesting weekend on the east coast, as many games were affected by Hurricane Matthew. LSU and #18 Florida had their game postponed to an undetermined date, as they have no common off dates the rest of the year. Notre Dame and NC State played in a monsoon, resulting in a 10-3 game. Georgia and South Carolina had their game pushed back to Sunday to avoid much of the storm. #17 North Carolina had a hard time adjusting to the rain, but it didn’t stop #25 Virginia Tech as they cruised to victory 34-3.
#5 Washington had perhaps the most impressive game of the week, running up the score on Oregon 70-21. #4 Michigan scored 78, but those were on lowly Rutgers. #6 Houston suffered the biggest upset, being taken out by Navy 46-40. #8 Texas A&M finally put an end to #9 Tennessee’s magical run in 2 overtimes, 45-38. #23 Florida State finally got back on track with a 20-19 victory over #10 Miami (FL). #15 Stanford suffered a humiliating defeat, falling 42-16 to Washington State. The Red River Rivalry left #20 Oklahoma the victors over struggling Texas 45-40. Finally, #21 Colorado fell to USC 21-17.

Dizart gets another weekly win and vaults into a tie for second place; while one more correct pick would’ve meant a near perfect bonus point and the outright lead. The top five have separated themselves from the rest of the field, as they are separated by only 2 points, but a 5-point gap has opened between the two tied for fourth and gtho4 in sixth. wwe84 was on the wrong end of the results this week, hitting only six games correctly and taking a wooden spoon with him. Six bonus points were handed out, with ozzz2002 taking half of them as he jumps over Shadowmyst2004, who hopefully returns next week.
The shock of the week for this comp came thanks to Syracuse, who entered their game as 19-point underdogs to #17 Virginia Tech, and left as 14-point victors 31-17, giving ozzz2002 two bonus points. Dizart and ozzz2002 both earned a bonus point being the only two to take North Carolina in their 20-13 win over #16 Miami (FL). Finally, ElfTwinkle and yoyoandcigs also earned bonus points for taking Northwestern in their victory over struggling Michigan State 54-40.
#1 Alabama gave #9 Tennessee their second loss, by a much larger margin this time 49-10. #2 Ohio State was threatened by #8 Wisconsin as they went to overtime, but came out on top 30-23. #3 Clemson was also threatened by NC State, but also earned a win 24-17. #12 Mississippi was the highest ranked team to fall to an underdog, 34-30 to #22 Arkansas. As we finish the seventh week of the season, only 11 teams remained undefeated.

Dizart and Howie72 both hit a near perfect bonus and pass N-Bomb to share the top spot with each other. illiniman14 gets his first weekly win as he barely misses a perfect week. wwe84 notches his fifth wooden spoon, and with that George95 makes it to 90 consecutive weeks without a spoon, putting him only 4 weeks short of tying that record.
Picks were very evenly split this week. Only #1 Alabama’s victory over #6 Texas A&M resulted in everyone getting a point. #7 Louisville’s blowout win over NC State resulted in all but ozzz2002 getting a point. wwe84 and ozzz2002 both missed out on two bonus points taking extreme underdog Eastern Michigan in their loss to #20 Western Michigan. N-Bomb and yoyoandcigs also missed out on a solo bonus while favorite Memphis lost to Navy 42-24.
One of the two big upsets of the week came from Penn State taking down #2 Ohio State 24-21. SMU doubled up #11 Houston as the latter continues to reel following their undefeated start to the season which ended the week prior. #21 Auburn crushed #17 Arkansas 56-3, while #25 LSU knocked off #23 Mississippi 38-21.

Sypher not only picks up a weekly win this week, but also moves to the front of the pack for the first time this season. Dizart and Howie72 both take a step back after sharing the lead this week, and N-Bomb moves up into second. Sypher shared the win with dg_dave, who now shares a no-man’s land with illiniman14 in the middle of the table. ElfTwinkle and gillyharold take home spoons after getting half of the games correct, which means that Howie72, by the hair on his chinny chin chin makes it another spoonless week with 9 correct picks, making it 91 straight and 3 shy of tying the record.
Three underdog bonuses were awarded this week as South Carolina took down the now-free falling #18 Tennessee Volunteers 24-21 in overtime as 13-point underdogs. Everybody got a point from Oregon’s 19-point win over Arizona State. Several solo point attempts were made: ozzz2002 barely missed out when previously-undefeated #7 Nebraska lost in overtime to #11 Wisconsin; wwe84 missed out as Michigan State continued their horrible season with a surprisingly competitive 32-23 loss to #2 Michigan; ElfTwinkle missed out on 2 points (with an underdog bonus) as #17 Utah lost at home to #4 Washington 31-24; gillyharold and ozzz2002 were disappointed by Cincinnati in their blowout loss to Temple; and gtho4 and wwe84 saw Georgia fall flat against #14 Florida at home.
The first upset of the weekend happened on Friday, as #22 Navy went down in a 52-45 shootout with South Florida. #5 Louisville got some late-game magic as they scored a touchdown in the waning seconds to beat usually-submissive Virginia 32-25. #6 Ohio State rebounded from their first loss last week in a bad way, barely beating Northwestern 24-20. #8 Baylor was the biggest upset, falling to struggling Texas 35-34 (although it should’ve been 42-34 after a fumble return for a touchdown at the end of the game was insanely overturned). #10 West Virginia saw its perfect record end at the hands of Oklahoma State 37-20.
The first College Football Playoff rankings also came out, with Alabama, Clemson , Michigan unsurprisingly taking the top 3 spots. Texas A&M did make a surprise appearance in the #4 spot, as the only other undefeated Power 5 team (aside from the top 3) Washington looks on from the outside at #5.

ElfTwinkle pulls out a weekly win by only missing 2 games this week, but picking up 2 bonus points gives the full 16 points. yoyoandcigs also earned a near perfect bonus, and now sits only 1 out of the lead in 4th place. Howie72, Dizart, and Sypher are now all tied for first. wwe84 picks up a wooden spoon, but 2 bonus points actually left him with more points than N-Bomb and gillyharold. The most-hyped matchup of the week left #1 Alabama undefeated over #13 LSU 10-0. The biggest upset stayed in the SEC as #4 Texas A&M dropped to Mississippi State 35-28. #6 Ohio State had the most impressive performance, beating #10 Nebraska 62-3. #11 Florida fell to Arkansas 31-10; #17 Baylor got crushed by TCU 62-22.
The newest CFP rankings left #1 Alabama where they were, followed by Clemson, Michigan, and Washington.

ElfTwinkle goes from last to first to last in 3 consecutive weeks, while N-Bomb picks up a weekly win alongside gtho4 to go from 5th to tied for first. There is another 3-way tie for first this week, as N-Bomb replaces Dizart and the latter slips back to 4th. However, gtho4 is now in the mix only 3 back, just behind yoyoandcigs. George95’s spoonless streak lives on, and is now one short of the all-time record of 94 weeks.
Bonus points could have littered the field this week, but few were willing to pick against the (previously) unbeaten. We all missed out on underdog and solo bonus points from 21-point underdog Pittsburgh as they beat #2 Clemson; 14-point underdog Georgia Tech as they beat #14 Virginia Tech; and 22-point underdog Iowa as they beat #3 Michigan. Still, the field came out of this week with 5 solo bonuses and 1 underdog bonus.
Two solo picks came from #20 USC in their victory over #4 Washington. #8 Texas A&M continued their fall from grace with a 29-28 loss to Mississippi. #9 Auburn celebrated their return to the top 10 with a 13-7 loss to Georgia. #25 Arkansas also fell, but it was to #24 LSU.
