Going to try something new this pilot season with trivia.

I'm not going to write a quiz on every pilot I watch, but I will on many of them.

Any shows (pilots only) that you want me to do a quiz on? I'll try to hit as many as are requested, assuming it's not too much.

Timeless is one for sure.

I know it's not a new pilot for this year, but I just did a quick search and was surprised to learn that there's not any quizzes on "Mr. Robot".

Or maybe there were some but fsociety has been going around the web erasing any mention of their activities.

Dire, I'm sad to admit that I haven't seen Mr. Robot yet, none of the first or second season.

I'm obsessed with watching in order, and it wasn't on my radar until it was too late last year.

If we come up with a long list, maybe we can team up and each write a couple.

Hope you get a chance to see "Mr. Robot" sometime in the future then, I think it's something you would enjoy.

"Falling Water" on USA Network looks interesting too. It's about three unrelated people, who slowly realize that they are dreaming separate parts of a single common dream. It starts on Oct. 13.

BBC America has a series this fall based on Douglas Adams's "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency". I haven't read the books yet, but I assume that the t.v. series will be in the same style as "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".

That one sounds fun Dire. Any idea if it will be on BBC America?

Yes, it premieres Oct. 22 on BBC America. Looks promising from the promos I've seen. You can definitely pick up on that Douglas Adams sense of humor in the ads for it.

I almost forgot to watch Van Helsing on SyFy Friday night, but was able to catch it on the late re-air. It was a tad more gruesome than I was expecting, but then again it is about vampires.

I was really disappointed with that one. I had high hopes, but it just struck me as a mediocre show at best. I caught the pilot and second ep since they aired back-to-back. Don't think I'll be watching more after that.

I did think the second hour of the premiere was better than the first.

I was hoping it might get better in future episodes as they got into more of Vanessa's backstory and her relationship to the Van Helsings. But I just learned that Neil LaBute is the showrunner on this. I didn't really like any of his movies, so I'm thinking there might not be much hope for improvement after all.

Ah - Macgyver was the show I was looking for. Forgot it started already...

Yep, the first episode was on Friday night. That one was better than I thought it would be.
