The NHL season is just a month away. Come one, come all and tip your way through the NHL! Rules: - One point for a correct tip.
- Deadlines will be at the start of the first game noted in US Eastern time.
- Default is equal to the higher of Wooden Spoon or six.
- Tips not in by the first game's faceoff will receive default score.
- We will tip 15 games each weekend (all Saturday and enough Sunday/Monday to equal 15). Note: Week 11's games will be the Tuesday/Wednesday following Christmas as there are no games on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.
- As per last year, the midpoints around the All-Star weekend will not be tipped.
- If a tipper fails to lodge for four consecutive weeks, they will become inactive.
Bonus points: - One point for picking a result solo, or one of two, provided 12 tippers apply.
- One point for picking 12 or more of 15. This year's comp will determine next year's eligibility.
- Tippers will be ineligible for bonus points if they tip all homes/all aways or all bar one.

He was joined in the former game by ozzz2002, and in the latter by our weekly winner, wwe84.
- No one went default this week, but had someone, they would have been even with the Spoon score, picked up by illiniman14 (who evened himself out after just two weeks), LeoDaVinci, and our returner, srini701.
- We jagged the equivalent of 13/25 this week, at an even 52%.
- Three games had to go the extra five minutes, and two of them went past that.

- A good majority of games were predictable, as only four were not picked by at least 10 of the 14 tippers, with everyone picking St. Louis to win at home.
- In the only home-and-home matchup, hopefully you didn't pick the Stars...lost at home to the Blackhawks, but went into OT in Chicago.
- A much more respectable Spoon score happened this week...seven by both N-Bomb and ElfTwinkle.
- The Devils were victims of a 4-1 score in their matchups...both of which were on the road, but the came out on top in Charlotte, unlike in Tampa.
- Neither srini701 nor illiniman14 had an award this week, snapping their respective streaks.

- If you think you are seeing a lot of 3-2 scores, you most certainly are. Five of the six scores in that fashion were won by road teams.
- Four games had to play a little extra, with two of those going the distance and deciding it like they did in the Old West...oh wait, the shots are penalty shots...
- We failed miserably as a group, by going only the equivalent of 5/12!

- All of the bonus points this week were from near miss levels, as the fewest correct in any game was four (Arizona winning at home to Nashville), with the Blackhawks beating the Stars to perfection.
- Only three players did not score double figures this week...our Spooner, Sypher, and also LeoDaVinci and toocool4u.
- Only one game went beyond the normal regulation, unlike the last few weeks where several have gone beyond the 65 minute mark.
- The Canadiens absolutely thrashed Colorado at home, and scored double figures. Earlier in the season, they were the first team that had double figures scored on them on the season, so they have been on both ends of at least ten goals.

FunTrivia.com NHL tipping competition, aka, let's see who wins the most brawls on skates: - Gtho4 extends his lead to six by going 10/15, while wwe84 went only 9/15.
- N-Bomb takes the only bonus point with his 12/15 result, and plugs in one of those zero holes. George95 did the opposite, taking the Spoon and also filling in a hole. Only three left have zero Spoons, and four are still looking for their first win.
- We hit paydirt on a lot of games, as all of the games (save for the Blue Jackets' loss) were picked by a minimum of six.
- Scores were all over this week, unlike the last few weeks where teams had three or entire games had three.
- Was this intentional? Not likely, but the games went 3 home, 5 away, 7 home...in that order.

- Dead-heats : Weekly wins vs wooden spoon countback will determine podium finishes (if they are identical, bonus points will be used)
- Deadline : Drop of the puck of the first game each round ... default score will apply if tips are lodged after the 1st game has started
