You can do whichever you choose, provided you meet the requirements. For Z, you need to be able to create photo quizzes, for example. You also need to click on the 'I don't want to do this one' link to move between them. If you don't, you'll end up going round in circles. Not that it's ever happened to me...

You can do any, in any order, as many times as you want before the new round begins at the beginning of the two week cycle.

The note to the editor is not relevant to getting the TRIC point - it only lets the editor know that you need it to be submitted in exactly that category, and would rather have it sent beck to be adjusted to fit than have it moved to a different subcategory and go online. The TRIC point is generated by the system if your quiz meets the requirement of being in an appropriate category when it goes online.
I haven't collected TRIC points for quite a while, but I believe you have to go back to claim the point after the quiz goes online. Then you go back into the TRIC challenge to set up for the next one.

I asked my editor about this so please forgive me if it's a duplicate....I'm not sure I was supposed to ask him....
I had 3 Y points and the TRIC lobby said I'd need 5 Y points to get the next award. In the last couple days, I've completed two quizzes in the TRIC Y categories and had them made available. But I don't see that I earned additional Y points. I'd written "TRIC Y" in the box reserved for notes to editors on my quiz, but I'm wondering if I was supposed to do something else.
TIA! Looking back at the log of things, it looks like you were on the correct page and the quiz went online while you were there, but nothing was claimed when you went back to the lobby. The only way this should be happening is if you're clicking on the link that says 'I don't want to complete this one!' instead of confirming that you've completed the task at hand and clicked the link at the bottom of the page. I've made a test template in the Mixture: Sci-Fi subcat and it works. Are you receiving the message on the TRIC page, upon completing the challenge, that says 'Congratulations! You've earned a Y-Point!'? I've awarded the points-- those quizzes do count. If you (or anyone) continues to write in these subcats, please let me know if the process is working. I can't seem to find any issues on my end, but perhaps more playthroughs will lead me to an answer. Based on other authors passing through (in the same subcat) points are still going out.

Thank you for the quick assist! Love those badgelets!
I've run into similar issues, where I must be clicking in the wrong place in the wrong order. I can't remember exactly what I did this time. I do know that I made the main TRIC page one of my favorites, and I figured as long as I always went back to that page, I'd be OK. But my quizzes didn't show up as possible matches when I was working on them, so I knew something was off, and just hoped for the best.
Thank you for the fix! They should show as possible matches if you refresh the page after creating the template in the right section. Your bookmark link should simply be http://www.funtrivia.com/tric.cfm

See, interesting, when I click on that link, I'm taken straight to the Z page. It has this text on it:
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Homepage CHALLENGE Z - Round 65
Welcome to Challenge Z!
Pictures, pictures, pictures! That's what the Z Challenge is always about. With Photo Quizzes come Z-Points, and you can delve into the prize box if you submit quizzes in these subcategories for this round: Analogies For Kids Cold War Ireland People White Divination and Tarot
Go Back: I don't want to complete this one! Other players here:
ClarkyB arrived Apr 24 17, 6:22 AM jcpetersen arrived Apr 23 17, 12:02 PM ponycargirl arrived Apr 22 17, 3:50 PM Dizart arrived Apr 22 17, 9:15 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shouldn't I be taken to the general TRIC lobby instead?
And also on that Z page, I would think my pending quiz on Irish People would be there, because I have one I'm working on now. This mechanism has worked for me before, just not now.
This is hardly critical. I get to where I'm going within TRIC just fine; I might just have to ask an editor to take the extra step of marking my TRIC quizzes as TRIC quizzes.
Just thought I'd mention it! I'm using Safari 10.1 which maybe is the problem.
Regardless..thank you!!

Editors cannot mark your quizzes as TRIC quizzes - that mechanism works entirely through the TRIC pages, which Kyle (and maybe some others with superpowers) can adjust manually. If you don't see your pending quiz showing there, you haven't actually entered the challenge from the lobby and registered that you are attempting it.
I suggest you should start by clearing your cache, which is always a good idea when you see something from the past that isn't what you want now. Then go to the TRIC lobby manually and set up your bookmark anew (first removing the old one that seems to be taking you straight to the Z chamber). See if that works (but the current quiz may or may not show up still, since you will be entering after you submitted it).

I have cleared my cache again.
But to be clear, the bookmark I've been using takes me to the lobby. It has this text:
------------ The Random Idea Chamber
Welcome to the bi-weekly challenge arena that is The Random Idea Chamber!
From this hub you'll be able to step into the challenges you're looking to complete.
The current round is Round 65. The next round will begin on May 6.
Other players here:
pagea arrived Apr 25 17, 3:15 PM DaizyMaizie arrived Apr 25 17, 2:22 PM Gumby1967 arrived Apr 25 17, 3:39 AM bigjohnsludge arrived Apr 24 17, 3:48 PM rossian arrived Apr 24 17, 9:19 AM
Make your choice:
Option 1: CHALLENGE X
Option 2: CHALLENGE Y
Option 3: CHALLENGE Z
Option 4: Go to the Award Center
Option 5: Instructions Again Please!
---------------------------------------------
When I used the link that Kyle provided in the previous post which was, I believe, supposed to take me to the lobby, instead it took me to the Z page.
Also, my Ireland People quiz is still not showing up, even though I generated it from the path of: Challenge Z --> Ireland People --> Create Quiz Here EDITED: Now it is! Thanks much.

The link I gave you takes you to the last page of the game that you were on. If you're consistently linking back to the lobby, regardless of where you were in the TRIC game, there's an issue with the original link you saved, and it will override where you were in the game and back you out of getting the points you deserve.

My categories have updated but the first page still shows the old round number and date.

I was away from everything most of Saturday, so my quick round swap wasn't complete. Everything should be fine now.
