Unfortunately we have been hit by a 7.5 earthquake which struck at 12:02am, centred near Culverden in North Canterbury. Followed by three aftershocks of at least 6.0 and many more over 5.0. Seems to be located in a couple of locations with most around Kaikoura and Seddon, the 7.5 Culverden earthquake is being reported as a secondary earthquake. Two deaths have been reported and an unknown number of injuries plus damage to buildings and infrastructure.

So sorry to hear it, Howie. I hope that you, family and friends are ok. It seems no time since the last one.

Sounds like a bad one, Howie. Ferries and planes cancelled in Wellington, too.

Hope you are OK!

All good with me, I am just far enough south to not be affected much.
