As the last photo chain seems to have fallen by the wayside, I've closed that one and abracadabra here's a new one. smile

Rules as before: one photo per week, each new photo must be linked in some way (obvious or tenuous), and please say why your brain has made the link.

I'll get this new chain kicked off then...

This is a scene from a small area of woodland known as Wistman's Wood on Dartmoor. It is one of just three areas of ancient and natural high altitude oak woodland in the United Kingdom. When the weather conditions are perfect, the entire woodland takes on an air of surreal ghostliness. It's a wonderful place to be when it's like that!

The "Earth Goddess" sculpture in Atlanta's Botanical garden is also nice and green.

Everything seems to have been 'green' up until now, so let's see if we can introduce a few more avenues and expand this thread...

Here is a view of an old mill (wheel on the right) in the city of Bayeux in the Calvados department in Normandy, France. The river in the picture is the Aure and in the distance are the three distinctive spires of the cathedral. It was on this site that William Duke of Normandy forced Harold Godwinson to swear an oath that he would not lay claim to the throne of England, the breaking of which led to William's conquest of England which began in 1066.

More stone buildings, though these have been whitewashed...
And there are churches in the backgrounds.

Stones, water and sunshine. This bridge is in a newer section of Duke Gardens.

Hi Godwit...

The 'Chain' is a forum in which you post pictures which have a link to the picture posted previously; for example, if you wanted to add an image you could post a picture of a bridge, water, stone, sunshine, a Duke or whatever as long as it has a link, however tenuous, to the picture posted by Ertrum.

Whoever posts after you would then take an element from your image.

Have a go!

Let's see... The last picture was of a lake and a bridge. So here's another (somewhat larger) lake and bridge - Lake Powell in Arizona and Utah.
