Years ago, our national radio, CBC, held a contest to finish the phrase "As Canadian as..." echoing the well-known "as American as apple pie".*

Well, today something happened that would win that contest. Guy drove his Zamboni through the Tim Horton's drive through. And the people ahead of him in line paid for his order. If you don't know what a Zamboni or a Tim's is, I guess you're just not a Canadian.

* the winner of the contest was "...as possible under the circumstances".

I lived in Texas for over 25 years and know what a Tim's is...so everyone else in the US should have no excuses...lol. wink

I've seen too many Zambonis to not know what those are...

And I have never seen either, but done enough quizzes on here to be almost an expert! smile

Even living on this tiny island I know about both so could enjoy the story.

Brilliant.

I bet I could drive a zamboni better than I could ice skate!

Probably better than I can ice skate, too, I'm a terrible skater.

When I was a kid, it was fairly common for parents to flood the back yard to make a little rink. My dad used to flood our vegetable garden, and kept it shoveled so we could skate. Even with all the time I spent out there, the only way I ever learned to stop was to plow into a snowbank.
