For those for whom the New Year has begun already...

This is Vladimir, a magnificent Amur (Siberian) Tiger resident at Dartmoor Zoological Park in the village of Sparkwell just outside the city of Plymouth... He is a monster of a cat!

Catching moving items in the dark without motion blur takes some doing, if the exposure's too fast it's not bright enough and more than about 1/250 second it'll blur. But you could be lucky!

These new houses were built near me recently, and really makes a change for a modern design nowadays. There's a row of them at the back as well.

Lovely bird pics. I've never seen a Turaco but that robin's cousin is in my garden warbling every morning. Well, I say warbling - a translation service told me it was nagging "where's my dinner?!" but it sounds good all the same.

He's a little larger than yours MG! (Although a lot harder to cuddle).

He looks like one of Victor's relatives, except Victor has stripes.
