Another largely predictable set of results, with everybody getting a HoF....those who "dared" to pick differently, find their names in red  Davjack still managed to pull one off, with the Chiefs beating the Hurricanes over the weekend, a result that meant the Crusaders have sewn up the Kiwi conference.
A 2 week break now for the internationals and we return towards the end of the month for some more split rounds over the home stretch of the comp. paper_aero looks good to break/continue his 3 year streak

The 2 week break for internationals seems to have thrown a lot of us off our game here. There were some very ordinary and some very inspired picks. A whopping 7 bonus points were dished out this round (to 4 of us) and in what might cause a small storm in a tea spoon, illiniman14 as default scored more points than 8 of us who bothered to lodge picks, with away teams having a nice run this round.
Howie72 and paper_aero have ensured podium finishes for themselves, but there's a mad scramble for the final spot on the podium....at least 6 of us are in with a chance going into the final round! The tie-break (HoF versus spoon differential) may well come into play.
Davjack gave himself a chance to upend Sypher with a HoF performance this round, boosted by 2 bonus points. ozzz2002 and srini701 had a good run too this round, while wwe84 edged closer to double digits in the spoons column.

So Canterbury Crusaders won't have an unbeaten season after all....they lost their final match to the Wellington Hurricanes, a result which enabled the Gauteng Lions to go top of the standings after the league phase. The Tokyo Sunwolves produced the "upset of the century," beating the Auckland Blues in a come from behind win, doing what no Australian team has managed all season in 24 matches: beat a team from New Zealand! There were wins for the knockout-bound Waikato Chiefs, Otago Highlanders and Western Stormers too in the final round.
In 2016 only our top 3 scored 100 points...this time 9/14 did. The only point of interest in our final round was the final podium spot and George95 duly spared me a lot of "tie-breaker" blues with a clinical 7/9 HoF performance to land himself the bronze. paper_aero landed a silver medal for the fourth year in a row, thus becoming the Andy Roddick of this comp here  Howie72 held on to his top spot without any bother and so wins the title he last won in 2012! He's also silently stitched together a spoonless streak of 37 rounds in the comp (last spoon in round 15 of 2015).
