We had a full house this week with 13 of 13 lodging picks .. illiniman14 won Lotto and has just returned from an exhausting eight-week World Tour, visiting such places as Jamaica, The Bahamas, Monaco, Venice, Vienna, Paris, Santorini, Mykonos and the Maldives .. and his exhaustion showed. He was one of seven players who collected a wooden spoon each with picks of 3/6.
We had four weekly winners with 5/6 .. which left George95 and gtho4 as the odd-ones out.
N-Bomb and Howie72 scored back-to-back wins, paper_aero now has three consecutive (four in the last five weeks), and the 4th winner was Sypher. He hasn't had a weekly win since way back in Week 10, when he scored back-to-back weekly wins to make it three in four weeks.
Picks for two games were unanimous, but we only hit pay dirt with the win by the leaders, Castleford. We all struck out with cellar-dwellers Leigh, who rose from last to 2nd last with an upset 25 zilch win.
The five players who picked Wigan to beat Leeds must've had some good oil. Leeds were walloppped 34 zilch and never looked like scoring. They played without 13 of their regulars (and three played their debut game vs. Wigan). The eight of us who picked Leeds need a new dartboard and/or an updated team sheet.
Dizart was one of the seven wooden spooners, which brings to an end his run of five straight weekly wins. ElfTwinkle now has three consecutive wooden spoons.
N-Bomb maintains his 2 pt lead out front (what's new) and the first four have now put 5 pts between themselves and the peloton (it was 4 pts last week).
Warrington, Catalans, Leigh and Widnes finished 9th to 12th and will now play the top four teams from the SL Championship from here to the end of the season - Hull Kingston Rovers, London Broncos, Halifax and Featherstone - to determine which four of those eight will play in next year's SL comp.
The teams in positions #1 to #8 continue in the SL comp by playing each other once, to determine the four qualifiers for the end-of-season play-offs. We now have a two-week break while the SL officials determine who plays who over the next seven weeks. |

We made it, we're at the finish post. After 27 weeks it's all over. N-Bomb collects the gold medal. He took the lead in week 9 and was still there 19 weeks later when we greeted the judges.
Dizart won silver on a countback from gtho4 (9-4 vs. 6-1) .. both of them finished at +5 but Dizart collected silver as he had more weekly wins.
We finished the season with yet another set of perfect picks again, for the third straight week.
At the other end, ElfTwinkle collected back-to-back spoons, to make it a total of 11 the season (she was the only player to reach double figures). She finished the season with these remarkable figures for the last 8 weeks: five straight spoons, perfect picks, back-to-back spoons.
The other spoon was collected by paper_aero, which pushed him off the podium from 2nd to 4th.
Nobody reached double figures for weekly wins. The gold and silver medallists had the best figures with nine wins each. Next best were paper_aero and George95 with eight wins each.
We had seven different leaders during the season (more than half the field). Two of those seven won gold and silver, and the other five finished in the bottom half of the table.
N-Bomb was the defending titleholder .. in fact, this year's gold makes it a three-peat!
That's it for another year. Thank you linesmen and women, thank you ball boys and girls. We'll do it all again in February 2018, when N-Bomb will again be defending titleholder, going for four .. will anybody stop him?
