The Warriors held on to a first half lead, something they have struggled to do this season, to defeat the Canterbury Bulldogs in Auckland. Gold Coast travelled south again, this time to take on Wests Tigers, and unlike last week they returned to Queensland with the win, consigning the Tigers to a 7th consecutive loss. Penrith looked to have their home game against North Queensland sown up until the Cowboys scored in the corner with just over a minute to go. They were missing their star player and goal kicker and it was left to Ethan Lowe to kick the sideline conversion to win the game which he ultimately did. Canberra put in a decent first half to lead Brisbane by 2 points at home at the break only to be overrun by the Broncos in the second 40 minutes. Sydney Roosters came back from 20-6 down against Melbourne with 25 minutes to go to tie it up with a last minute converted try at 24-24 and win it in golden point extra time with a field goal and narrow the gap to the Storm at the top of the standings. St George scored 2 tries in the first 10 minutes but then conceded 5 unanswered tries to go into the break trailing 28-10 to Newcastle. Unfortunately for the Knights they found the changing shed too comfortable and gorgot to emerge for the second half as the Dragons ran in 4 unanswered tries to steal the win. Daly Cherry-Evans reminded Queensland selectors that he is in top form to replace the injured Johnathan Thurston for the third State of Origin match with an inspired display as Manly comfortable won away at Cronulla.Davjack, LeoDaVinci and illiniman14 were running on default fuel this week.We carried on our stable run of tipping form as we went 49/77 for a strike rate of 63.63%, the third week in a row we are in the 63% range. There was one perfect game as we all tipped St George to beat Newcastle though it looked unlikely at half-time. The trickiest game to tip was Manly's win at Cronulla where just Sypher and George95 though it would happen.We had just one weekly winner this time when Sypher went perfect with 7/7 and earned a third bonus point of the season, more than everyone else combined. Only one spoon was handed out as ozzz2002 made it back-to-back spoons with 2/7. Of the regular tippers only paper_aero does not have a 2017 spoon in his collection.A weekly win and bonus point sees Sypher leap the canyon to join paper_aero at the top of the standings, they have a gap of 6 points over ozzz2002 (who will need to stop getting wooden spoons if he wants to remain on the podium) and Dizart. Of the regular tippers, dg_dave leaps over Davjack and is hunting down wwe84.

A converted try 10 minutes from the end saw Canterbury overcome a 12-0 deficit against Parramatta and tie it up at 12-12 only for the Eels to kick a winning field goal in golden point extra time after getting good field position from a penalty against the Billdogs for stripping the ball in the tackle, these penalties are usally controversial. Gold Coast kept St George at bay for most of their home game to record a much needed win, a couple of key injuries during the game did not help the Dragon's cause. The match of the round promised to be a tight and tough match as Melbourne travelled to Brisbane but in the end it was an 8 tries to 2 rout in favour of the visitors. It was just as bad for the Sydney Roosters as they were destroyed at home by Cronulla, giving the Sharks a 6th straight win over the tricolours. It was the same story for the Warriors as they travelled to Manly and jumped out to a 16-0 lead after 17 minutes but were unable to capitalise as the Sea Eagles came back to win by 4 points. North Queensland travelled from the heat of Townsville to the icy sub-zero temperatures of Canberra but it proved to be no difficulty as they headed back after an impressive win without their star playmaker. Wests Tigers ended a 7 game losing streak as they thumped Newcastle in Newcastle. Penrith scored 2 tries away at Souths but unfortunately for them Alex Johnston equalled a club record when scoring 5 tries out of the 7 the Rabbitohs ended up with as they destroyed the Panthers.LeoDaVinci and illiniman14 were running on default fuel this week.We ruined our 63% strike rate run as we performed badly by going 42/96 or 43.75%. No games were perfect with the Parramatta and Manly wins being the closest with 11 correct. The trickiest game to tip was Cronulla's win at Sydney where just wwe84 and ElfTwinkle picked it.We had just one weekly winner this time as ElfTwinkle put in a very impressive performance to go 6/8. Two spoons were handed out as George95 and Davjack went 2/8 to deny ozzz2002 his hattrick of spoons. Of the regular tippers only paper_aero does not have a 2017 spoon in his collection.Sypher and paper_aero maintain their lead but it has been cut to 5 points as Dizart takes over third by himself. Of the regular tippers, Davjack remains at the bottom and is 4 points behind dg_dave.

Without their Origin stars, the Sydney Roosters kept South Sydney scoreless in the first half but had to hang on to outlast the Rabbitohs. Penrith, helped by a 14-4 penalty count in their favour, over Manly in a lacklustre game. Parramatta took advantage of a Melbourne side missing 6 players to the State of Origin and jumped out to a 16-0 lead midway through the first half, this was enough to leave the home fans disappointed at the end. Newcastle were left stunned as 2 tries in the final 5 minutes saw Canterbury snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. Queensland farewelled Johnathan Thurston but welcomed his replacement Cameron Munster as they hosted New South Wales in the State of Origin decider. This year was expected to be the year of the Blues as Queensland were thought to be too old with the established players or too inexperienced with the 8 debutants during the series but it was not to be as the Maroons suffocated New South Wales to win by 16 points and take their 11th series win in the last 12 years.LeoDaVinci and illiniman14 were running on default fuel this week.We had just as many correct tips as incorrect tips this week as we went 30/60 or exactly 50%. One game was perfect as we all tipped Canterbury to beat Newcastle though we were almost all wrong. The trickiest games to tip were the wins by Sydney, Penrith and Queensland though these were still picked by 4 of us.Once again we had just one weekly winner this round as wwe84 put in an impressive performance to go 4/5. Two spoons were handed out as gtho4 and ElfTwinkle went 1/5. Of the regular tippers only paper_aero does not have a 2017 spoon in his collection, will this continue all season?Only one change in the top5 as paper_aero takes over the solo lead by 1 point over Sypher with Dizart a further 4 points back. Of the regular tippers, Davjack remains at the bottom and is 5 points behind dg_dave.

The Warriors season continues to underwhelm as 3 late Penrith tries saw the Panthers outclass the Warriors in Auckland. It was locked up at 14 all at full time but Canberra scored the winning golden point try after a big 40/20 kick set up excellent field position against St George, it was the first time the Raiders had won in golden point extra time in 4 attempts this season. It went as expected in Newcastle as Brisbane beat the home team but they had a big scare, only 2 late tries saw them pull away from the home team. For the second time this season Gold Coast has beaten the defending premiers to keep their slim play-off hopes alive. Manly scored the last 3 tries as they came from behind to beat Wests at home. Souths took their home game against North Queenlands to Cairns and it paid off for the visitors as the Cowboys won for the 3rd time in a row without Johnathan Thurston to show they are still in with a good chance of going all the way.Davjack, LeoDaVinci and illiniman14 were running on default fuel this week.It was an average tipping round this week as we went 37/66 for a strike rate of 56.06%. One game was perfect as we all tipped Manly to beat West. The trickiest games to tip were the wins by Penrith and Gold Coast which were only tipped by ozzz2002 and dg_dave respectively.It was a round of weekly winners as paper_aero, ozzz2002, George95, N-Bomb, Howie72 and ElfTwinkle all went 4/6. Two spoons were handed out as gtho4 went back-to-back and was joined by dg-dave as they both went 2/6. 3 tries in 7 second half minutes was more than enough to seal a big Brisbane victory at home to Canterbury. Sydney Roosters pulled away from Newcastle in the final 20 minutes to do what they had to to win. Cronulla scored points when they needed to to ease past South Sydney, celebrating Luke Lewis' 300th game with a win. Penrith kept hold of the ball a lot more in the second half and that helped them win a hard fought match against the in-form Gold Coast. Melbourne lost 2 key players to injury but still came away with a tough win at Canberra, making it a lot harder for the Raiders t make the finals. Once again the Warriros had a decent first half but could not finish it off in the final 40 minutes as the Cowboys scraped home to make it 4 wins in a row. It was all St George in the first half against Manly as they went into the break 30-0 up but the Sea Eagles came out firing n the second half to score 4 quick tries. It was not to be as the Dragon responded with 4 of their own to win big. It was much tighter in the Wests vs Parramatta game as it took a 77th minute field goal to break the deadlock and give the Eels the victory.LeoDaVinci, dg_dave and illiniman14 were running on default fuel this week.N-Bomb missed the Brisbane vs Canterbury game due to late tips.It was a superb tipping round this week as we went 74/87 for a strike rate of 85.05%. Four games were perfect as we all tipped the Brisbane, Sydney, Cronulla and North Queensland wins. The trickiest games to tip was St George's thumping of Manly which only illiniman14 and gtho4 got this right.Despite an impressive tipping round we only had one weekly winner, illiniman returns in style to go perfect with 8/8 and earn a bonus point as well. Four more spoons were handed out as Sypher, George95 and ElfTwinkle went 6/8, they are joined by N-Bomb who went 6/7. Of the regular tippers only paper_aero does not have a 2017 spoon in his collection, will this continue all season?For the second week in a row, paper_aero increases his lead over Sypher and now has a 3 point lead. N-Bomb drops off the podium, leaving Dizart and ozzz2002 in a tie for 3rd. At the bottom it is a mess as everyone below dg_dave has regularly defaulted though I think illiniman14 is back for the rest of the season.

In a scrappy match that never reached any great heights it was Penrith that triumphed at the foot of the mountains against Canterbury to stretch their winning streak to 4. Cronulla overpowered the Warriors, leaving their hosts wondering if they will ever win again this season. Parramatta all but ensured their first taste of finals football when they beat Brisbane to make it 5 wins in a row. Bottom-placed Newcastle stunned St George to end their losing streak at 8 games, in doing so leaving the Dragons play-offs hopes on a knife-edge. Needing to win all remaining 6 games to give themselves a chance of making the top 8, Canberra got off to the oerfect start by comfortably beating a disappointing South Sydney. Sydney Roosters overcame a half-time deficit to beat North Queensland at home and show they are genuine title contenders. Melbourne celebrated Cameron Smith's 350th match with a thumping of Manly to keep them top of the table. Gold Coast forgot to turn up to face Wests as the Tigers dominated to record just their 5th win of the season.LeoDaVinci and Davjack were running on default fuel this week.It was a below average tipping round this week as we went 47/96 for a strike rate of 48.95%. No games were tipped correctly by everyone with the closest being Melbourne's win over Manly which had 11 correct. Parramatta have confirmed play-off football for the first time since 2009 with a convincing win in the wet over Canterbury, making it 6 wins in a row. South Sydney pulled a rabbit out of the hat to score 2 converted tries in the final 5 minutes to stun St George, the kicking of a penalty goal that was criticised at the time being the difference in the end. Melbourne showed their premiership credentials when beating North Queesnland in Townsville, helped by a stifling defense and a Cowboys side decimated by injuries in the game. Newcastle made it 2 wins in a row by slaying a woeful Warriors but it may not be enough to avoid the wooden spoon. Brisbane ran in 10 unanswered tries to thrash Gold Coast and record their biggest ever win over the Titans. Canberra kept their slim play-off hopes alive when travelling north and accounting for Cronulla. Souths continued their late season revival when they cruised to a win over a disappointing Canterbury. Parramatta must have been thinking about finals football as they were stunned at home by Newcastle to end their 6 game winning streak. Brisbane were rarely troubled in accounting for Cronulla, scoring 32 points on the back of the 54 last week. St George Dragons breathed fire back into their play-off hopes as they easily beat a struggling Gold Coast, their 25th round match against Penrith looking like determining which side makes the final 8. It was a fiery and controversial game between Melbourne with the visiting Roosters awarded a penalty try in the first half, however Melbourne stole the win from Sydney with a late try. North Queensland lead Penrith by 16-6 just after half-time but they had lost 2 players to injury in the first half and it showed as the Panthers surged home to win as the Cowboys tired. The Warriors season continued to get worse as they went down easily at home to Canberra. Wests trailled Manly by 14 points at half-time but snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a 79th minute try.George95 missed the Souths vs Canterbury game due to late tips.LeoDaVinci and Davjack were running on default fuel this week.It was a good tipping round this week as we went 65/95 for a strike rate of 68.42%. No games were tipped correctly by everyone with the closest being the Brisbane, Penrith and Canberra wins whic all had 11 correct. The trickiest game to tip was West's win at home over Manly where no one gave the Tigers a chance.We had a big number of weekly winners as 7 of us went 6/8. Two more spoons saw themselves heading to new homes as both Sypher and ElfTwinkle went 4/6. Of the regular tippers only paper_aero does not have a 2017 spoon in his collection, with just 3 rounds to go will this continue all season?The lead at the top remains at 5 points for paper_aero over Dizart with N-Bomb a furhter point behind after overtaking Sypher. At the bottom it is a mess as everyone below dg_dave has regularly defaulted though illiniman14 has drawn level with Davjack.

Parramatta are back on track after easily beating an injury hit Gold Coast. Souths took control against the woeful Warriors after scoring 14 points in a 7 minute spell midway through the second half to continue their late season surge. Brisbane cemented their top 4 spot and gave St George's play-off hope a serious dent as they overcame the Dragons by 5 tries to 2. Melbourne stormed to the minor premiership with a thumping of Newcastle. Sydney survived a scare against Wests after a late try snatched the win for them. A 24 point opening half was enough for Cronulla to overcome an injury-ravaged North Queensland, 2 late tries for the Cowboys making the scoreline more respectable. A 73rd minute try to Penrith put an end to Canberra's play-off hopes, allowing the Panthers to get revenge after their finals exit last year. Manly were inside the top 4 after round 19 but after their loss to Canterbury their play-off hopes are hanging by a thread in 8th place.LeoDaVinci and Davjack were running on default fuel this week.It was an almost identical good tipping round this week to last week as we went 66/96 for a strike rate of 68.75%. Two games were tipped correctly by everyone, being the Parramatta and Sydney Roosters victories. The trickiest game to tip was Canterbury's win at home over Manly where only ElfTwinkle got this right.After last round's 7 weekly winners, this week we only have 1 as ozzz2002 went 7/8. Two more spoons were awarded as both gtho4 and dg_dave went 4/6. Parramatta have sent a timely warning to anyone they face in the play-offs when they travelled to Brisbane and scored 9 of the 15 tries to stun their hosts, scoring 52 points in the process. Canberra ended their home season in style when beating Newcastle 46-28. North Queensland kept their play-off hopes alive by scoring 3 tries in the final 14 minutes to come from behind and beat Wests. Canterbury jumped out to a big half-time lead away to Gold Coast but the home team hung tough in the second half to close the gap to 6 points with 3 minutes to go only to pass the ball to the opposition on their own goal line, the resulting Bulldogs try sowed the game up. Melbourne were almost perfect and showed why they are firm favourites to go all the way when they demolished South Sydney by 64 points to 6. It was not pretty and took an 80th minute penalty for Sydney Roosters to edge Cronulla by 2 points. The Warriors looked like finally ending their losing streak when leading Manly by 7 points with 7 minutes to go but somehow managed to lose to a golden point field goal. St George stay alive after the edged Penrith in a tense seesawing match.LeoDaVinci and Davjack were running on default fuel this week.It was an average tipping round this week as we went 51/96 for a strike rate of 53.12%. One game was perfect as we all tipped Canberra to beat Newcastle at home. Brisbane travelled north to Townsville to take on North Queensland and left with the victory, bouncing back from last week's heavy defeat. Parramatta sealed a top 4 spot despite a lethargic last game showing, saved by a Semi Radradra hat-trick against South Sydney, following on from his 4 tries last week. Sydney Roosters surged home with 2 tries in the final 10 minutes to beat a plucky Gold Coast and cement second place in the standings. Manly needed to beat Penrith to make the play-offs while the Panthers had to restrict any loss to less than 38 points to do the same. After 60 minutes the Sea Eagles lead by 28-0 to give Penrith fans a bit of concern but 2 Panthers tries meant both teams made the play-offs. Melbourne were too clinical for Canberra after a fast start and finished 6 points clear in the standings. Cronulla did enough to overcome Newcastle and enter the play-offs with a chance to defend their title. Canterbury ended St George's season after scoring the final 2 tries to win by 6 points, consigning the Dragons to 9th place and at the same time, gifting North Queensland the final play-off spot. The final match of the regular season saw Wests Tigers win comfortably at home to the Warriors. Newcastle finished with the wooden spoon.LeoDaVinci, illiniman14 and Davjack were running on default fuel this week.It was a very good last tipping round as we went 67/88 for a strike rate of 76.13%. GThree games were perfect as we all tipped Sydney, Melbourne and Cronulla to win. The trickiest game to tip was Canterbury's win away to St George where only ElfTwinkle threw her dart to the right part of the dartboard.The final round saw 4 weekly winners as wwe84, gtho4, Sypher and paper_aero all went 7/8. One wooden sppon was handed out as dg_dave went 4/8, he started and ended the season with a spoon in his rookie year, look out for him next year. It happened, paper_aero finished the season spoonless which is a superb performance.A final weekly win saw paper_aero win the tipping competition in style, pulling away in the final weeks to win easily by 7 points, the biggest lead all season. There was drama for the other 2 podium places as Sypher, Dizart and ozzz2002 all finished level so it came down to tie-brakers. Sypher ended up in 2nd place with a +2 HOF/WOS differential, Dizart finished 3rd with a +1 differential while ozzz2002's differential of 0 means he is the unlucky one. In the end it came down to bonus points earned throughout the season as without them Sypher and Dizart would have finished off the podium. The end of the season awards are as follows:
