I've just played the Crossword of the Week and found that some of the clues were rather longer than the space allocated for that information so some of the text was not shown. Is is possible to increase the space for clues as it's fairly important to be able to see the full clue and not just some of it? Thanks Terry!

The Crossword Flash cannot be changed. This is an editing issue - some prompts should be shortened. Might want to contact the crossword author (whom I do not want to publicly name)

If that doesn't work, drop me a note and I'll see what can be done. We try to keep the clues concise, but some older puzzles may have longer clues.

I am trying to play a crossword for the daily challenge and it won't let me type the letters. I have played crosswords before and have never had this problem. I hope it is just something stupid that I have forgotten. I was hoping to get an epic today.

I had this problem also. A recent update by Microsoft disables flash mode in Windows - since flash is used by FT for crosswords you are not able to type into the grid. I get around this by using Chrome to do crosswords in. Terry has stated he is working to remove flash from FT.

I had that problem for a while too. They work now again on Firefox browser too, but not on the MS Edge browser.

Can those who have crossword problems please tell me which antivirus you use? I have a suspicion, but need some feedback to confirm it.

Also, if you are affected by the problem, try the following: Load a crossword and leave the window open (for at least half an hour) while you do something else. Then try again. I had the problem once, forgot to close the window and about an hour later, the crossword worked (as did others I played afterwards).

McAfee Anti-Virus for me, but as I said, it only seems to be a problem w/ the MS Edge browser. I think there's a Flash problem there all-around since the last Win10 update. Crosswords on Firefox were wonky for a couple of months too (the last letter of each word entry would not show up until I went to the next word, and the green highlight strip was 1/2 missing), but somehow it's been corrected now.

I did try your experiment of opening a puzzle in MS Edge and leaving it for over an hr., but still a no go.

I use Firefox - to fix the problem I just minimise the window and then maximise it again. Voila, then it works!
I'd be interested to hear if this solution works for other players.

Thank you for all of your answers. I recently had an update. That must be the problem since I have done crosswords in the past.
