Thanks, Ozzz smile - but I don't think I made myself clear. Sorry about that - I'll try again:

When I go into anyone's profile, and click on their quiz lists, it isn't their own created quiz lists I meant, but their "Quiz List Trophies Collected" that aren't highlighted if you've played them before.

The only way you know that is to open one up - but even if every quiz is highlighted green for having been played by you, you don't know if you've clicked the gold cup before or not, because it doesn't change colour either.

(Lord, that sounds twice as confused, but hopefully it makes sense)

It would be helpful, if possible, if one has played a quiz set before, that the name of the quiz set changed into a definitely different colour to indicate this.

Like in Crosswords when it's highlighted green if you've played one before, ie.

I don't think that's really a good idea for the lists played by a member - their profile is meant to be about them, not about you, and adding color-coding to that list would muddle things up.

Now it would make sense for the lists *created* by a player, because many players just like another author's style and thus want to play all of that person's lists. There may however be performance issues in checking all of those lists in one place - checking on the list page would of course be a good idea; I guess that was not done because originally it wasn't foreseen that anyone would play from a place that isn't quiz list central (from where you'd already know if you played or not), the profile lists were likely done after the list title page was already finished.

So the highlighting to indicate it's been already played wouldn't be player specific as in crosswords? That is, for example, the crosswords I've already played are highlighted, but that highlighting wouldn't show up for another player looking at the same page?

It doesn't really matter though. It was just an idea. Too much fiddling around.

Yet... if we're to work through all the Achievement upgrades, that's 1,500 quiz lists. That's a lot of checking - initially to see if we've played all the quizzes in a quiz list over time (some in the normal course of FT playing for favourite authors), and then to see if we're actually clicked on the gold cup before.

(Always a nice surprise when you haven't)

If you want to do really big numbers of quiz lists, just use the quiz list page - the newest ones will always be on top and there's tracking on that page!

I forgot about them. Right there on the home page staring at me. AND they're highlighted once played. Problem solved!

Is there going to be Achievement Levels for rating new questions?

Or is there one already? I can't find it if so.

There is an achievement for rating quizzes, but not for questions (that statistic is not actually tracked).

However, "Two Years of New" (which is planned to receive upgrades) is effectively "play and rate new questions", so it will serve that function.

IMHO, the one game on the site that deserves a live chat window is Crystal Ball.

Can I suggest adding the ability to withdraw a question you have submitted and amend it, like you can with quizzes. I have just submitted a question with a ridiculous spelling mistake (I blame spellcheck), and it would be great to be able to fix it before a poor editor sees it!

Me too unfortunately - submitted a question with poor grammar ie. I was being pedantic and changed the wording, but forgot to remove the original, darn it.

If you didnt know, you can put a CN on your own question from the new Q menu, while it is in the queue waiting for entry to the new question game.

Or so I've heard..I uh...have never had to do so myself because my submissions are always perfect of course grin

I know mopping up the mess yourself to save the editor the bother would be preferable, but you can at least get it fixed before it goes in play.

Would it be possible to change the screen result when you click on Play Now from just "You have already played!" to the questions and answers? Sometimes my computer takes so long to load the results, it gives up, but if I retry, it gives me an error. So then I can't see what I got wrong and what I got right.

Thanks answerman, but that CN functionality, while useful, only kicks in once an editor has approved the question. So wouldn't have helped in my case.

[b]Would it be possible, on the Home Page, to put in the FT date as well as the time?

It gets a little confusing trying to work out the difference in dates and times in here if living in another hemisphere and another country, but in particular, when working out dates and times in big challenges such as the Amazing Race.

I can safely say I'm as thick as a brick in that regard.

Have a look at the top LH corner of this page in the forums:
http://www.funtrivia.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/10/1/Tipping_Competitions

It shows FT time and the date. I created it many years ago; and it's very helpful for those of us who live downunder!

Just saved it to Favourites - thank you!

Those tipping competitions look rather interesting. I might have a go when the Australian Tennis Open begins - and the Melbourne Cup.

(My horse will possibly be called "You Can't Pick a Winner for Nuts")

Still another suggestion: Could you add a "Topic List" link to the bottom of the chat board pages, both for the team pages and the open chat board? Some pages get very lengthy, and the "Home" button doesn't always take you to the top of the page. Thank you.

It would be a good idea to widen the scoop on the Monster Quiz. I think it picks up three levels in front of you and two behind you for six levels total, but dropping participation has made the number of players shown drop down from 30 to under 20. Widening the range to five in front and four behind would make ten levels total. Or perhaps you could alter it to a percentage of your level, so that those in the 200s would have a wider scoop than those in the 100s.

I've always found the issue to be less dropping participation and more 'narrow player field at higher levels'. At the point where players reach the 200s, there's less people playing because less people are there despite participation level. It's just harder to attain.

I considered that, hence my second suggestion. But I haven't increased in level in six months, while the number of people in my "group" has indeed dropped from 30 to 18 or 19 per day.

Something I've noticed about the popular game apps is that they tend to be very colorful. Many of the new ones combine features of other popular games, like there's one that combines Farmville (fictional farm) with Bejeweled (match three). Two things to keep in mind for future FT development.

Crops that grow on farms often have different colors. Animals on farms often have different colors too. People generally like to paint the buildings on their farms in different colors. Even the equipment used on farms has colors. Add in the colors of the people and any clothes they might be wearing, then it makes sense that FarmVille would be colorful.

Gemstones come is every hue of every color. The names of some gemstones, such as ruby red, turquoise, jet black, emerald green and sapphire blue, are recognizable colors. Gemstones are cut and polished into jewels. Bejeweled is about matching up those colorful jewels. If it wasn't "very colorful", it couldn't exactly be called Bejeweled.

Funtrivia is, for the most part, text based. There is a very small amount of old Brain Teasers that have colored text. It was decided many years ago to no longer allow the use the colored text in quizzes here. To allow FunTrivia quizzes to become "very colorful" would be a big mistake.

Terry modified the homepage not long ago and a revoltution nearly broke out around here. He had to end up offering multiple choices for us. He was trying to make the homepage look cleaner and less cluttered. To redo it and make it "very colorful" would be going backwards.
