The problem with Video Games is that there are far fewer mixed quizzes than for movies, music or books. The hourlies (and GC up to division 7) stay away from quizzes that are specific to one work (which only a fan of that specific work would have a chance to answer).
As to being too focused on some subjects, I think the solution would have to be a general modification of the question algorithm. I personally don't mind Bible questions (even though I am not Christian), on the other hand, you could hear some unprintables from me when another mixed hourly is half "who played role X in Y".
We have 17 categories that can be used in hourlies and dailies, so in an ideal case, 10 question mixed-topic games (Hourly mix and New Questions) should use 10 different categories and those with 15 or 20Q (Daily, KO, FMI, Obscure) should not pick a category more than twice. Not sure how easy of difficult this would be to implement for Terry, so no promises...

In the western world, at least, the Bible has been prominent enough in idiom, art, and literature, for someone who has no association with Christianity or Judaism to still be aware that, oh, Noah has something to do an ark, Daniel has something to do with a lion's den, and so on.
And even if Religion questions were limited in some way by the system, it's possible for biblical questions to pop up in Humanities, Lit, Movies, Music, and General, making it seem all pervasive.
I do agree though that sometimes it seems awfully specific. I was brought up on bible stories but still struggle with having to know the life stories of all the apostles. Which one was the tax collector, again?

There are occasions when the hourly games do seem to pick from a narrow database. I'm fine with Bible questions (Christianity was part of my childhood and schooling) but the FMI set I had yesterday had two successive questions on positions in American football. In multiple choice, as least you can guess.
Mostly I don't get too bothered when this happens. Next time it might be cricket where I do stand a chance.

How about, once a year for March Madness, the Funtrivia Knockout game ignores knockouts, wins, level, - anything - and just randomly assigns brackets for that week? It would give the underdogs a chance to test themselves against, and upset, some higher-ranked players. It would also give the higher ranked players either a week to take mentally "off" or let them hold up their honor and fend off their upstart challengers. Lastly, it would certainly throw a wrinkle into the fantasy pick-em mini game.
Personally, I think it'd be a blast to shuffle things up around NCAA Tournament time each year. I am also a bit sick of seeing the same folks week after week in my brackets during Knockout, and this week even my most consistent performance score-wise in months was not enough to win. So, I am a bit salty about that, and would love the confidence boost some new competition would give me.

Hey all... I had a suggestion regarding the Author Rainbow mini badgelets. I wonder if it could be possible to implement the following:
1. A mini badgelet for bringing one of your badgelets to Tier 7. It's not easy to do if you don't write that many quizzes
2. A major badge for bringing 10 of the rainbow minis to Tier 7.
3. A super badge for bringing all 20 rainbow minis to Tier 7.
It would be up to the designer whether they would need to be "claimed" or given out automatically upon completion.
Any thoughts?

I just realized that the Polymath badge was an oversight on my part. Now that I have gone back to take a look at it, I am at Tier 2. It's going to take forever to tier up to some of those higher levels... lol... I still don't have my Literature Rainbow badgelet yet! (ugh... not my strong suit)!
But achieving one "Tier 7" for a badgelet would be a great idea... Perhaps we'll see it one day!

Hello everyone! Under Stats & Hall of Fame, in the Recent section there is a list for Most Recent Badge Winners & Most Recent Mini Badge Winners, how about a Most Recent List for tier 7 completions? Or a tier 7 achievement section? This a new suggestiom, not a response to Hair bear. Sorry i'm new here.

I don't suppose you'd consider increasing the Fifty-Fifty game levels from 500 points (level 7) up to a 1,000?
It's such a fun game to play, but there's nothing to chase after the 500 points are reached - and I miss that.

Since we don't want to demote players who already have a tier, this would require a tier 8... or maybe we could just have a new badge "Winningest" that counts win points over all games and starts somewhere between 500 and 1000 for tier 1 with some pretty massive numbers higher up. That way, it would extend the path for all the games at once. That sounds like a great idea!

Is there any ongoing Thread on the site to inform players of the passing of various members?
Lonely-Lady has joined those sorrowful ranks. Her son informed one of our team members with this message: "I am lonely-ladys son, I'm sorry to inform you that my mother passed away recently on the 30th of may I'm sorry if you were good friends"
LL's profile states she lived in England. Her hobbies were "The three Rs plus crafts involving wool and being alone" - and that's enough to give anyone a lump in the throat.
But most importantly of all, perhaps, as an indication of her belief structure, her Comments quote states ""Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." - Theodore Roosevelt and "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Mahatma Gandhi."
I hope somewhere in the great unknown that her lonely soul has found rest, gentleness, and yes, that she will live forever, surrounded by many, many friends.
It's so easy, so very easy, to say hello, to smile, to perhaps even spend a little time now and then with a fellow traveler in life who is filled with pain and loneliness.
I wish I had.

I wish I had. She used to frequent the Chats. As I recall, she had no means of transportation, and had to walk a mile or more to the shops. I've looked around, and found a post from May 29, 2021 in the 'Tell a Story' thread: "On my next birthday I turn 66, the current retirement age for females in UK." She seemed a gentle soul. I'm glad she found enjoyment here. A 'lovely' lady.
