It's hard to win a buzzy bee when the notice has dropped off the buzz without being replaced. Can that be changed?

This has to be one of the most irritating challenges and I'd like to see it dropped as a challenge. The Buzz only covers two hours at a time. I've checked it numerous times today and haven't seen any notification. Unfortunately I've already used my "mulligan" this week.

Bumping this up again. I had the challenge yesterday and started looking at about 8.30 a.m. UK time. There was no sign of the notice until 10.19 p.m. - it then reappeared at 10.20 p.m. and again about 15 minutes later. By that time, I'd given up and switched the challenge out. A fourteen hour wait seems unacceptable.

Does something go wrong on certain days? The two previous messages were posted near the end of the month and yesterday was another month end. Or maybe it's just a strange coincidence.

I agree with the suggestion of dropping the Buzzy Bee from the daily challenges.

Perhaps the daily challenges could be refreshed with some new ones? Some to do with Duel would be good - that part of FT came in after the daily challenges were set up.

The buzzy bee notice issue came up a while ago...Terry bumped up the frequency of notifications and it was working well for a while but somewhere along the way it seemed to fall back to the old way with notifications (after the note for the initial launch of a new bee) being sporadic and often many hours apart, similar to the recent complaints here.

What about a continuous notice? Pinned at the top of the buzz page showing either the location of the open challenge...or "the buzzy bee is currently resting..stay tuned for a new challenge which could pop up anytime"...or something like that."

Now that I think about it I have not seen that challenge for some time so I may be forgetting how hard to find it can be and thus biased unduly in its favor... but scrapping it entirely seems a bit harsh compared to fixing the notifications again.

If it is scrapped though I will resubmit my idea for a new badge..."the beekeeper" for someone who wins 5 buzzy bees. Otherwise I think that would bring too much traffic into the running for what is otherwise a rough a daily challenge just in terms of finding an active one..and then knowing enough about th topic chosen to be able to hit 70% on most/some/any quizzes involved.

Daily challenges involving Duel might prove tricky to make fair for gold members and regulars It would be fairly easy to come up with easy/medium ones that work for regular members just about as well but for hard challenges of the type "score X number of games above score Y" would not work. And even "score one or two games above Y" still favors goldies excessively as they get 3x the number of tries.

I agree.in general with the idea that more daily challenges would be good but I think an effort should be made to make new ones available to all wherever possible. Obviously gold members, as paying customers do have, and should have, advantages, but for this context specifically, if goldies are hurting for variety now...then regulars really have it rough with a daily challenge list much abbreviated from.the full list for gold members..

I suppose you could do something like average daily total score over a minimum of five plays...but that almost shifts.it too far in fabor of regulars who tend to pick and choose five favorable topics so goldies would have to pick their poison of mimicking regular style play and leaving unfavorable topics unplayed..or suffering a generally lower average. Maybe that issue could be rendered moot if the target score.is personalized to the user.

I'm not proposing getting rid of the BB, just not giving it as a daily challenge.

For the Duel you don't need to do a challenge based on score - you could have a DC to win one, two or three more duels than you lose, for instance.

right but as currently constituted...taking the buzzy bee off daily challenges effectively kills it.

sometimes I see other people playing them but other times I have tried for one it seems I am in it alone and the only obstacle is missing too many questions.

I remember one time the category was decently sized (~50-60 quizzes) and I plowed slowly through it with divided attention over the course of about 6 hours. My lack of urgency was driven partially by the fact that I saw no one else taking those quizzes en masse on the recent plays list.

Maybe that was a fluke case where I lucked into a category I knew a little something about and no one else interested in the bee that day did, but I think it goes to my general point that "no one" really tries for it unless they either still need the badge, or have that daily challenge.

I haven't tried the Buzzy Bee since I originally won the badge years ago. Too much effort. I see the Daily Challenge for it as practically impossible (like the Challenge to correctly guess the Secret Word of the Crystal Ball) and do not even attempt it on the days I get it.

But not reminding people of the topic of the Buzzy Bee on a regular, frequent basis makes it much worse. If the Buzzy Bee is to be taken seriously, it must be updated more frequently in the Buzz than it presently is.

There hasn't been a buzzy bee notice for at least the past four hours tonight.

You need to stay up later. I've seen two appear and be solved since you posted.

I think it would be a good idea to have a notice on the Buzz about the Buzzy Bee every hour or two. Nothing has shown up for several hours, so anyone who has the Bee as a daily challenge (like, say me today!) is in the dark.

The buzzy bee has not been up for at least 6 hours. I'm glad I've finished all my epic challenges as it's increasingly looking like I won't finish that today.
