The problem with this logic is that it assumes that all 18 categories are "best categories" and can be played at that level.

Not really. It only assumes an even 900 achievement across all quizzes. I don't know how feasible that is. If I click only easy quizzes, then I suspect that there will be plenty of 940s, 950s in there that can also bring up some low scores. I just wanted to point out that many players will average much more than 630.

I have an idea. Rather than continuing to discuss this, I challenge Wesley to fulfil the requirements during a single FT day of his choice. If he comes back having completed it and says he thought it was OK, I suggest we all concede that it is. How about it Wes? smilee

Wesley's creations often seemed designed to satisfy his schadenfreude; this is our chance!

You might want to add Terry to complete this one, I had no hand in setting these requirements.

But when I gained my Endurance badge, I had around 65,000 points and that was when quiz answers were worth 10 pts. 6500 answers = 650 quizzes. Of course I have to subtract a few for daily/hourly, but the number was certainly significantly above 360. It didn't include a category requirement however, so not 100% comparable.

Happy to add Terry :-) Come on, stop swimming around your dolphinarium!

65,000 points is phenomenal Wesley, even without the category requirement. OK, I officially and publicly give up, it is not a ridiculous requirement and I retract my previous statements (Without Prejudice) ;-)

What's the consensus here? Too hard? Ok?

Very tough, but certainly doable.

It's a triple flag. It's tough and meant to be so. It's achievable.

A challenging but viable triple epic.

If people have the badge then it's doable.

For both the Orange and Blue flags, the degree of difficulty is not extreme..and probably falls more in line with a medium challenge.

What makes it epic is the time committment required. That makes it anywhere from mildly to extremely restrictive for those reluctant, unable, or unwilling to devote the time needed to it.

In that regard I sort of see it as a microscale version of the GC....where again it is not extremely rough, especially in normal mode...it just takes a lot of devotion to the cause.

Not too hard considering it is the Triple Flag. Those should be considerably harder than a regular flag - and it is an EPIC.

I posted earlier in this thread about how I received it early in the day and barely made it with only minutes to spare. To clarify - I don't recall at what time I started, probably 9 or 10 in the morning FT time. So my time would have been over twelve hours, but I almost fell victim, to poor time management. I already had the first two flags and this isn't a favorite of mine, so I wasn't especially gung-ho. I was still playing hourlies, doing my usual routine and working on the categories I enjoy. It wasn't until much later when I saw I might actually have a chance that I got serious with it. Even so, on that day I only scored 33,755 and on the day when I earned the Endurance Badge I scored 58,366.

Edit to add my playing time which I found: 10:12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. I could easily have been under twelve hours if I hadn't dawdled so much early on.

Now that we have the 1000/1000/1000 and 2000/2000/2000 badges, I'll frequently buy a challenge even if I know there is one I might not complete that day. I'm actually hoping for a "Difficult" challenge that I can achieve since that's where I'm furthest behind.

I actually got lucky in that respect today in that I bought a difficult challenge which I completed one minute before I bought it. My easy challenge was to play 2 hourly games. In doing so I managed to win my level the mixed game. A minute after that set closed I spent my 9 credits and bought the difficult challenge requiring me to Rank #1 in my division in any hourly game. So sometimes we get lucky with our challenge buys.

This was actually in response to TriviaFan22's post on the end of the previous page about not buying challenges when there was one that was likely to not be complete...I managed to not see that there was a page 2 until after I posted.

Maybe we need to make an actually impossible badge just to justify the complaints.

Is a 250,000 points in a day enough to justify the name 'Impossible'?

If getting 12000 points in quiz mode in 18 categories is not hard then please explain what hard is?
Have got this challenge three times up to now and gave up after completing 3 categories.

If almost 50 people have done it, it's not actually impossible. Seems to me there are quite a number of people here who feel the difficulty level is appropriate for a triple. It IS very hard, and by design, but doable. That's why the total winners is 50, not 500 -- nor zero.

In a way, the Green Flag is sort of an inverted, and much harder, Orange Flag. When you get Green, the reason it's such a challenge is that even though you're only asked to play a small handful of games, they're all once-a-day ones, so there are no second chances (that day). With Orange, the number is tall and imposing, but there's no shortage of quizzes. That is, it may want 20,000+ quiz points in almost every category, but the challenge doesn't care how many quizzes you needed to hit the requisite total.

If the challenge said, "You have to score [roughly] 250,000 quiz points total AND you must accomplish it within X number of quizzes," I think that would be pushing it.

Never said that the challenge was impossible. It is extremely hard and requires people to devote an enormous amount of time trying to achieve it.

Sorry, I suppose I should have clarified that the "impossible or almost so" part of my comment was in relation to the other poster's comment. Then again, I may have even misinterpreted part of HIS post, in which case I apologize for that too.

Nothing against revolutions, but when they become thinly veiled personal attacks, they're over.

(If you don't know what this refers to, you're fine. I had to delete a few posts here; the authors will know.)

I got this Epic yesterday at 10 am FT (noon local). The requirement for me was 10,800 per each of 18 categories. I worked diligently, with a few short breaks for phone calls and a meal, and finished at 9 pm FT (11 pm local).

The good news is now that I have it I won't ever be tempted by it again. Having 11 hours to devote to such a pursuit isn't normal, but the stars aligned to make it possible yesterday.

This hitting late in a day, on someone's working days, or when they had any other responsibilities would make it pretty much impossible. I don't see Epics very often, so not having a chance at completing one would be disappointing. I'm still wondering where the red flags are hiding.
