We've had a full complement of 20 runners over the entire season of 38 weeks just once, in the 2nd edition of the FT-PL tipping comp back in season 2004-05. Last year we had 16 runners over 30 weeks, this year we're back to 18 runners over 34 weeks. We lost one player and one returned; but we gained two newbies. Welcome aboard Fifiona81 and toocool4u! This year's FT Premier League is the 15th edition of this head-to-head comp .. 13 of the 18 runners have played in all of the last five comps: 2013-14

ElfTwinkle and ozzz2002 have started the season with a bang. They're 2 from 2 with a 100% record! At the same stage last year no-one was 100% .. there were six players with a win and a draw. ElfTinkle was mid-table and ozzz2002 was top of the pile:

At the other end, FussBudget has a big fat zero after two rounds. Last year LeoDaVinci was the one bringing up the rear with two losses. Three games were picked by everyone .. we had two hits and one miss (Spurs) .. 12 of 18 scored 5/10 but we only had 3 of the 9 games end in a draw. Top to bottom is a 6 pt spread vs. a 4 pt spread last year. One major difference, which should manifest itself as the weeks go by: last year's comp had a field of 16 and this year we have 18 runners. We now have a two week break for international fixtures including FIFA World Cup qualifiers. |

We had a full house with 18 of 18 lodging picks. All of us picked Arsenal to win, and no-one saw the upset coming at Southampton, who lost at home to Watford. The nine FT-PL games had nine winners (aka there were no draws this week).
After three rounds we have just the one 100% record .. ozzz2002 is 3 from 3 and is now all on his lonesome out front. At the other end, FussBudget won his first game and no longer has a big fat zero alongside his name.
We had a perfect game of musical chairs .. no-one kept their spot from last week. Top to bottom is now an 8 pt spread vs. a 6 pt spread last week.

We had another full house with 18 of 18 lodging picks. All of us picked Manchester City to win, but no-one foresaw the draw at Stamford Bridge. Last week we had no draws, this week five of the FT-PL matches ended in a draw.
After four rounds we still have a 100% record .. ozzz2002 is 4 wins from 4 and is now so far in front that, even if he loses next week to Sypher, he'll still be leader, solo. The record for consecutive win is ten, by Sypher in 2005-06, followed by N-Bomb with 8 last year, 2016-17.
The four who were undefeated last week have continued their undefeated run.
At the other end, the five players without a win are still win-less. The record for a win-less start to a season is 13 games by ozzz2002 in 2006-07.
Top to bottom is now an 11 pt spread vs. an 8 pt spread last week (and 6 pts the week before).

ozzz2002 is no longer perfect. He was beaten by Sypher but retains the lead as he had a 4 pt buffer coming into week 4. It's now 2 pts as the four players running 2nd to 4th all drew their games (one of which was 2nd vs. 3rd).
Those four all dropped three spots, as these three all won and jumped over them: Sypher, N-Bomb and LeoDaVinci.

There's no change out front, as the first three all won their games. N-Bomb and srini701 both lost, leaving LeoDaVinci as the only player who's undefeated.
At the other end we still have four players looking for their first win of the season.
Top to bottom is now out to 13 points .. it was a 10 pt spread last week and 11 pts the week before.

It must be contagious. Chelsea were beaten by Crystal Palace, who were win-less goal-less and point-less (aka they hadn't scored a goal all season and had lost every game). No-one was brave enough to pick this upset.
Arsenal were beaten by Watford, which was also picked by no-one .. and from there the FT-PL saw the first three all lose (last week they all won).
With that loss LeoDaVinci is no longer undefeated. As he was the last man standing, no-one has an undefeated record.
ozzz2002 retains the lead despite losing but, as the five behind the first three all won, we now have nine players separated by just 3 pts (one win) .. that's half the field! Those nine are the only runners with a +ve GD.
At the other end Dizart & gtho4 emulated Palace; they finally broke through for their first win of the season. We're now down to two players who are still win-less.

Two games were picked by no-one: Huddersfield beating Manch Utd, and Stoke losing at home to Bournemouth. Sypher was the only one to pick WHU losing at home to BHA.
This left seven games for the rest of us: ozzz2002 and N-Bomb picked the lot and duly won their FT-PL games. N-Bomb moved up into 4th place and ozzz2002 kept his grip on 1st place.
toocool4u picked six of those seven to record his first win of the season .. leaving illiniman14 still looking for his first win, after 8 rounds. He has along way to go to break the record: ozzz2002 started the 2006-07 season without a win for the first 13 rounds.

After eight weeks at the to of the pile, ozzz2002 lost and slipped to 3rd spot. PaulE jumps up into 1st place on the back of his 5th straight win (he's undefeated in six) .. five weeks ago he was in the bottom half of the table in 12th place.
N-Bomb jumps into second place on the back of his third straight win. Dizart has also won three straight & moves up into 10th (three weeks ago he was near the bottom in 16th place).
illiniman14 is win-less no more. He broke his duck with his first win of the season, to move off the bottom rung.
wwe84 lost again to make it three straight losses.

Dizart put nine past PaulE, which ends his run at six straight wins and knocks him off the top of the table. It took him 11 weeks but the defending titleholder, N-Bomb, is now our new leader (he's now won five straight).
N-Bomb was the only one of the first six to win (the other five all lost) and at the other end, in a round of contrasts, dg_dave was the only one of the bottom seven to lose (wwe84 drew and the rest all won).
The two out front have put 3 pts between themselves and the next seven who, in turn, are 2 pts ahead of the next four. The remaining five at the rear of the field are now a further 4 pts adrift (it was 2 pts last wk) .. these five are separated by a single point.
