Adobe will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to the new open formats, like HTML5, WebGL and WebAssembly. At last!
I assume FT is already working on a solution to eliminate Flash anyway.

Yeah -- the only thing on the site that uses Flash anymore are our Crosswords. An HTML solution to that is in the works. I hope to have Flash eradicated entirely by the end of the year.

Good. We Mac users don't have a lot of bad stuff sent our way but fake Flash updates have been one of them.

Flash is a disaster.

One of the threads over on the Chat Boards was talking about the Just A Minute challenge, which uses the Flash-based Instaquiz. When Flash is out of the picture, will that minibadge be retired, or is there a way (and/or plan) to change it?

There is a message on the Instaquiz page saying it will be retired in October.

I have never tried for the Just a Minute badge (my times are too erratic for it to seem attractive to me) - I never realised that was the mystery destination.

Yes, but that was put up right around the same time as the "Country" badge was retired (since it too used Flash / Instaquiz). It's an outdated notice that's been up for ages. That's why I was curious what, if anything, would be the mini's eventual fate.

There is a workaround for getting a minimal number of points when you need a certain score to get a badge but it's very tedious and complicated, best suited for someone who...oh...works for an IT company, let's say.
