paper_aero has hung on to win it by a single point, after 38 rounds and some 373 picks, from the fast finishing N-Bomb, who ended the season with back-to-back weekly wins. If N-Bomb had scored one more point he would've won this, as he had better countback figures at +5 vs. +4 for paper_aero. N-Bomb was the defending titleholder.
This was paper_aero's second FAPL title .. his previous win was seven years ago in 2010-11. This year's comp was the 18th edition: it has been won five times by Sypher and three times by N-Bomb.
paper_aero becomes the 4th person to win the FAPL-FT-PL double. Sypher was the first, when he lifted both titles in the 2005-06 season .. gtho4 was the 2nd to win both, in 2008-09. N-Bomb was the third, and he did it twice: 2014-15 and last year 2016-17.
Nobody has achieved a treble of wins: FAPL, FT-PL and FA Cup in the same season .. paper_aero has the odds stacked against him to become the first, as he's 6 pts behind N-Bomb in the FA Cup comp (and 4 pts Sypher who's running 2nd), with one round left, the FA Cup Final. N-Bomb achieved a unique treble last year when he won these three football comps: FAPL + FT-PL + FLC.
Just three weeks ago srini701 was equal 1st with paper_aero, some 11 pts in front of Sypher, who was back in 7th place. Sypher flew home in those three weeks with back-to-back weekly wins to finish a mere 2 pts behind srini701, who hung on to win the bronze medal. In other words, Sypher reduced the deficit by 9 pts in three weeks. What a show-off!

That, ladies and gentlemen, completes the 18th FAPL tipping competiton here at FT. Thank you linesmen and women, thank you ballboys & girls, and thank you illiniman14 for running this comp. Congratulations to the medallists x3 on the podium, and commiserations to the rest of us!
--------------------- p.s. we need a host for the 19th edition of the FAPL tipping comp as illiniman14 has taken a leave of absence, due to real life events leaving him juggling a few too many balls. I can post the 38 tipping threads as the FT-PL comp uses the same schedule of games; leaving the host with the weekly results post. Let me now if you're interested, any time over the next three months. The FAPL comp will re-start in mid-August.
p.p.s. srini701 has volunteered to host the 2018-19 comp
