For the first time in the history of the Champions League, 5 teams from one country have progressed from the group stage to the KO rounds: Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester United. Four has always been a possibility for four countries: Spain, Germany, England and Italy , but five teams will only happen for one of these countries when a 5th team enters the Champions League as the previous season's winner of the Europa League (which is how Manchester United qualified).
The first time 5 teams qualified to the group stage was in 2015-16 (but all five did not progress), when Spain had five in that season's comp: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia (the first three progressed).
The draw for KO Round will take place on Monday. As the 5 English teams won't be drawn against each other, we may see yet another record created: five of the eight quarter-finalist from one country.
We now have a mid-season winter break until mid-February 2018, when the 1st leg of the KO Round starts: UEFA ( 13 ) Tue 13th Feb.

. Round 14 saw THREE games picked by no-one and two games picked by just two players (Real winning in Paris and Juventus winning at Wembley). Each of those four picks earnt a bonus point .. for LeoDaVinci it was his first bonus point of the season, which filled the last blank in that column.

. We had a full house for the 1st leg of the quarter-finals: 16 of 16 lodged picks.
Sypher scored his second weekly win of the season (his first win was way back in Round 7). He also collected two bonus points and climbs up into fifth place, a new personal high for the season.
wwe84 collected this week's wooden spoon, to make it four spoons in six weeks.
Dizart retains the lead, with a slightly reduced margin of +3 over ozzz2002, who's put 2 points between himself and the rest of us. Behind him we have six players separated by a mere 3 pts.

. A round of outrageous upsets saw us end up with just 19 correct picks out of 120 lodged. Between us we averaged 15.8% which almost broke the all-time record low for the Champions League comp.
In the 15 yrs we've had this tipping comp our lowest strike rate was 13.4% some 12 years ago, in wk 13 of the 2005-06 comp. We would've smashed that all-time low if Manchester City had failed to score in the first half (11 of the 19 correct picks came from the HT result of the Manchester City game).
The two winners scored a mere 3/8 and the two wooden spoons finished with 0/8.
Dizart still leads with the same 3 point margin .. that makes it 15 consecutive wks as leader (the entire comp apart from week one). The next four players are separated by a single point.

Juventus came within a whisker of a unique recovery. No team has ever progressed after losing 0-3 at home in the 1st leg. They were leading 3-0 and looking at the game going into extra time, but conceded a penalty in injury time to go out 4-3 on aggregate.
AS Roma overcame a 4-1 loss away to Barcelona by scoring three at home without reply, which levelled the two-leg tie at 4-4. They progressed on the away goals rule. They became the third team to overcome a three-goal deficit and progress. The previous two were 15 years ago, by Deportivo, and last year, by Barcelona:
In 2003-04 Deportivo La Cortuma lost 4-1 away to AC Milan in the first leg of their quarter-final tie. Deportivo won the return leg 4-0 at home to progress 5-4 on aggregate.
Last year Barcelona overcame a FOUR-GOAL deficit to progress. They lost 4-0 away to PSG in the first leg of their KO Round tie but progressed despite conceding a goal at home in the return leg, to only lead 3-1 with just three minutes left (aka they were behind 3-5 on aggregate). Barcelona scored in the 88th and then twice in injury time to win the second leg 6-1 and complete the miracle; and progress 6-5 on aggregate. That was the only time a team has recovered from a 4-0 loss in the first leg.
The draw for the semi-finals took place in Nyon, Switzerland, at 12:00 noon local time on Friday 13th April. Liverpool, who'll be away in the 2nd leg, have avoided the big two:

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid
The first legs of the semi-finals are on UEFA ( 17 ) Tue 24th April. The elimination of Manchester City and Barcelona has ruined most of our advance picks for the final (finalists and winner). Of the 45 advance picks lodged 34 are now dead & a mere 11 are still alive and kicking. No-one has a set of three live picks and 7 of 15 have zero live.

. The second last round saw srini701 score his first weekly win, which filled the last blank in that column .. and he's no longer in 16th place, finally, as he climbed up into equal 14th place, a new personal high for the season. He's been anchored to the foot of the ladder since day zero.
Dizart still leads the way, for the 17th consecutive week. His margin has been shaved for the 2nd consecutive round, and now stands at a single point .. and the first three are separated by a mere 2 pts.
From there there's a gap of 2 pts to toocool4u and ozzz2002 in equal 4th place, but they can't win this as they're 4 pts behind Dizart with no live pick for the winner (they can, however, jump onto the podium alongside the gold medallist).
As Dizart has by far the best countback figures at +5, those behind him will need to pass him.
The spanner in the works is wwe84, way back in 7th place, 7 pts behind Dizart. He's the only player with a live pick for the winner and, if Real win it, he'll collect 5 pts and join Sypher in equal 3rd place. . wwe84 won the final round, R19, with 7/8 (his 2nd win in the last three rounds) and climbed up the table from 7th to equal 2nd, falling one point short of catching the leader, Dizart. Back in R16 he was 10 pts in arrears in 12th place = 4th last!
Dizart retained his spot at the top of the pile for the 18th consecutive wk to win gold, He was leader for every round except the first, when he was third. Howie72 won silver on a countback from the fast-finishing wwe84 with +2 vs. -1; toocool4u and ozzz2002 dead-heated for 4th a pt further back, and Sypher finished another pt in arrears in 6th place, 3 pts behind the winner.
Back in R16 there was a 7 pt spread across the first six. In other words, Dizart won this despite an avalanche of players catching him over the last three rounds!
wwe84 had the most wins with six (same as Dizart), but also had the most wooden spoons with seven!
