I wonder if you saw the list of categories I posted up above of the previous months categories. Global Trivia, Art and Degrees of Seperation are the ones that appeared twice in that period. In fact Global Trivia has appeared three times since the start of August. Does that mean you would suggest removing the root category for those ones entirely too?

On a personal and selfish level I would love it if you were to remove religion as a category. While you're at it you can add in sports! smile But on behalf of all the players that must delight in seeing the religion topics I think they should stay.

Can't we just use Expert categories for Heroes with some reasonable split between general and special? That game seems to cause little concern in terms of category choices, so why not use it for Heroes (and Global **) as well? It also allows the "sanitizing" of categories for better general audience appeal - like for example running Hinduism without the Mahabharata quizzes.

I would think that the issue there is that Expert swaps every hour, so no one is locked in for a whole day. Not to mention the 'obligation to the team' aspect.

I thought we had switched to using basically the Expert list for the Team Hero game. Since Hinduism brought this up again, the questions in Hinduism for Team Hero were no different than the questions I see in Hinduism when it is an Expert topic. I even score the same, seven correct every time.

That's easily explained: Right now, the Expert Hinduism topic does not use any exclusions, so it just runs the entire gamut of the category including Ramayana and Mahabharata. They could however be added - it would be possible to split it into general Hinduism by excluding Mahabharata and a specialist Mahabharata topic. However at current tech, this wouldn't affect Heroes.

All this because one player out of 2.2 million missed their chance to win the 'Everything' badge.

I have the badge and it took me months to get it; just play the games as they arise and eventually you'll succeed.

Just leave things as they are - this badge is supposed to be difficult to get.

Except for the repetition wink

With so many topics available, there's really no need to play three topics twice within a month as we did during the period I listed early on in this thread.

Otherwise, I'm satisfied with it. It would be better (in my opinion) if it used the topics from who's the expert but the mixture of topics and difficulty range is good right now so it has a good balance as it is.

Exactly, if anything more categories should rotate, not less. General Sports and VG should be in the mix. They are just as specialized as religion and everything should be highlighted in TH.

I wouldn't change a thing. That then wouldn't be fair to other players who possibly get great scores in that category, but not in others. The game/games are fine as they are.

I complain now and then about assorted ones (and I'm still whinging about that high number of points required in a day). We even have a thread in our team room to moan and groan about various games, or missing out on such and such by THAT much etc. Ultimately, though, it's the challenge that's the fun, not so much the arrival.

Gaining a difficult badge is a real thrill, but then...but then...after the laurel wreath has lost its leaves, there's no more badge left to chase, alas.

There has to be an old proverb somewhere that says beware of dreams that come true. Maybe it's even a Hindu one.

Please don't remove Religion from Heroes.

I'm just starting to learn something about Hinduism!

Our team is generally all in on any Heroes topic. We may not love them, but by God, we play them!

Thank you, so much...

I didnt recall having seen this one before and wondered. Thank you to Terry and anyone else if it was added as an active response to the complaints. Based on eaely numbers it seems like a good balance between the two chief gripes of too obscure/unfamiliar and too easy/just a horse race to see who has the fastest click reflexes.

Actually there have been quite a number of first time categories popping up over the past 2 or 3 months since Terry's tinkering.

I do terrible on religion most of the time. I'm for keeping the subject. Now Harry Potter and Rap music should be considered for elimination smile I refuse to read books with that many pages and I refuse to listen to awful music smile

For those with no sense of humor, please note that the smiley face means I'm poking fun....OK?....OK!
