On the site the following is posted: A. Large Team League -- Those teams having over 100 active players.
B. Medium Team League -- Those teams having 30 to 99 active players.
C. Small Team League -- Those teams having up to 30 active players.

and also "Large Teams (100+ active players)
Medium Teams (30 to 99 active players)
Small Teams (8 to 29 active players)"http://www.funtrivia.com/teamstats_daily.cfm

According to the above then a team of 30 players is placed in the medium category? Could I please have this clarified?

Yes. This is only inaccurate in that the large division no longer exists. It's only 30+ and 1-29.

Note that the numbers are recalculated several times per month and team sizes you see on, for example, http://www.funtrivia.com/tvt_lastmonth.cfm may not be the ones that have been used at the change of month to assign a team.

Small correction, maybe?: It'd seem to be 1-30 and 31+ given that the Regal Beagles and Joli Llamas are small and have 30 actives.

At 30, we are sometimes in the small, and sometimes in the medium for Heroes. It seems to be an average of the previous month, rather than a snapshot in time.

Hmm, maybe? I feel like with a day or two left I've noticed that a team with 30 (seemingly) most the month that hit 31 the day or two before the month rolled over wound up in the non-small division.

The Beagles' home page stated 31 all this past week, until Friday or Saturday, when it shifted to 30. Doesn't matter. We're clearly on the cusp, and are getting used to being bounced back and forth smile

I'm not positive that this is correct, but pretty sure that however a team begins a month, that is where they stay for the entire month regarding the final monthly stats.

Yes. A team doesn't change from Large (when it existed) to Medium to Small or back upwards during a month. Poor Wesley! Imagine trying to figure out placements statistics on a monthly basis when some teams hop from place to place?

The 'official' figures have always been slightly different from the reality - in my experience the team size for 'small' is 1-30, and you go up a division at 31 or over.

However, the date for the count seems to vary a bit. It's not the end of the month but somewhere in the last two weeks. So if you have 30 or less players when the final count is done you will be a small team for the following month; if the count is 31 or more, you'll be in medium/large. Doesn't matter if your number of active players goes up or down after the count is done, once it's done that's it.

The Guild is one of those teams, too - we always bounce. I couldn't say how it's calculated, because we don't care enough for any of us to keep track, but whatever size we are put in at the beginning of a month is definitely the size we stay at for that month.

Sorry, I didn't mean we bounced *within* a month, but from month to month.

I am sorry for the frustration of those dancing on the threshold. We have no such problem as we are perpetually a small bunch of Fools.

Er....no wait..that came out wrong! wink

Hope this is the right place to post this. I have always tried to keep my team small. I now discover the thread for "Looking for New Players" keeps the posts available for months (for some reason I thought it was a month or so.) However, a post I placed on 24 June is still showing which means the likelihood of going over the required number of members. I had my setting at "Invite Only" so of course somebody was able to join, even though I had the full quota of members. It now shows "Closed"

I am pointing this out as there are quite a few other posts that go back. There is also no way of removing the post or not that I can see.

Vee, if you have your team set as "Invite Only," anyone with your Team Number can join, with or without an invitation. Sad, but true, and we found out the hard way.

If you really want to control your team numbers, lock it down and keep it "Closed."

Unless I misunderstood your post?

No, you read it correctly. It was a stupid oversight on my part. Still would like to know why the posting has remained open for four months though on "Looking for New Members." Also as a warning to others who might like me, assume their posting has been removed.

As the saying goes "Live and Learn."

It seems to drop off the end, only if enough new invitations are posted.
