Well Joe and Amanda flew into London Gatwick early Sunday and spent the day sightseeing in London, I don't know where they stayed for the night but on Monday they caught a train to Gatwick, only to have problems with a delayed train so missed their check-in! I THINK they were flying EasyJet who as we know are not the most accommodating, however, BA put them on their later flight at no charge which was very good of them.

They made it to the BBC News site!

The weather has been wonderful for them, they go from here Sunday morning.

They have had an amazing time, several events to meet some of the people who paid for tghe trip, the last is this evening.

I've just seen it on the BBC website and remembered you telling us about it. He's given Jersey a great review - friendly people and great food. The tourist board must be delighted!

Apparently Amanda's mother went into her bank in Plymouth, Mass, and was asked by the teller if Amanda was her daughter.

Its just a great uplifting story , when lots of stories just arent.

A few weeks ago I wanted to plan a trip to Harrogate, and as it was so far I wanted someone to share the driving. The usual people from the past had gone away or were busy, so I put a request on Facebook, and within a day someone I'd known from a local radio page for years and wanted to meet offered to come, and we went on Sunday and had a great time. Without Facebook I'd have been phoning around and either got someone as a last resort out of desperation or had to go on my own. I was worn out after driving there and a couple of hours back, and was so relieved someone else could take over and I could get my strength back rather than have to grind out another few hours alone and in the dark.

Alex Dolan is a product of a very expensive British education, Millfield I believe, not exactly a regional accent, but very British would be true.

It is going viral! They have been on Channel 7 News and Fox News now.

But English is English, It is spoken by the English, so how can someone have a "thick British accent"?A French person speaking French isn't said to have a thick French accent. It is French!
