I love these Halloween Challenges! A year seems too long to wait...

Hey Wesley, one little thing that I've been curious about as regards the clues. I had worked out that the one hint's "6" meant to "play all six games in a GC set," but I never knew what the "out of 49?" was referring to. The only thing I ever guessed was that maybe it was some obtuse reference to the fact that 6/49 is 12.24%, like as in "12 and 24 hours" (six GC games, a GC set being every 12 hours). But I'm sure I'm as far out in left-field as can be. Care to shed some light (no pun intended) on the REAL meaning of "6 out of 49?", if you would?

I thought it was supposed to be 6 out of 46. As in 6 games total out of 46 possible options, since there are 22 categories plus Impossible every 12 hours. Don’t know about the 49, though...



Oh, I’m definitely not missing out on next year’s mini, not with my awesome teammates (all problem solving geniuses). Seriously doubt I can get first four years in a row, though. Can’t believe I got it so early this year! All luck.

6 out of 49 is a common lottery drawing pattern (at least in Europe). The only point of this one was the 6 to reinforce you need a full set.

Ah, okay. Would you believe I actually ran that comment by one person (Answerman, you can vouch for me here!) ... and said something like, "There's a type of lottery called a '6/49 game' wherein you choose six numbers between 1 and 49, and if all six match, you win." But I then proceeded to go off on some long thought about lottery mathematics.

After being away from the boards for a few months, I just realized that I missed the Halloween challenge. Life should not get in the way of fun, should it? I will try to remember next year in time to join the suffering.

I didn't manage to complete this one either. It was quite late coming online (or so it seemed to me), and then I just didn't have time to complete it before jetting off on holiday for 3 weeks with very limited/unreliable wifi. By the time I got back, the challenge had timed out.

It's actually rather frustrating, because I've got all the previous ones.

Nice holiday, though.

Skip the Halloween Challenge this year? That's not funny, not at all. I look forward to this all year. It is one of the most truly innovative things FT has to offer, especially in the way it encourages team cooperation. As for bringing the holidays early, I have had quite enough of that hypercommercialism in the real world already. It's gotten so bad, I see Christmas merchandise on sale in stores right after Labor Day. Truly embarrassing. Companies have no sense of decency anymore. That stuff shouldn't appear before Black Friday at the earliest.

Rest easy, Kyle knows full well that if he brings out his annual tinsel, fairy lights, and jingly bells before we've been given a shot at a Halloween challenge he will be trampled by a herd of Joli Angry Llamas and he can't want that.

I heard some rumors about a massive horde of Zombies who are starving for brains (excessive social media and mobile device use has destroyed a lot of what TV didn't get) and that they might be planning a massive attack on a website with lots of intelligent users.
