I also have the issue with the bottom of the letter being cut off. It's not actually cut off, but if there is a line at the bottom of the letter such as I or E it goes on the line dividing the boxes, making it difficult to distinguish between I and T or between E and F.

Internet Explorer 11 on desktop.

Looks great on an iPhone6, and is a much better interface than Puffin, in which the keyboard takes up at least 35% of the screen, forcing you to shrink the page way too much.

I have passed all this feedback on to the developer. Hopefully a good number of these requests can be taken care of.

Okay, Princess woke up for dinner so I had a chance to try crosswords on the newer iPad than the one I usually use here. I use safari and the version, according to my settings is, 9.3.4 (13G35)

I can now see the grid for the crosswords in the above two links. The keyboard works. Unfortunately, none of the clues are appearing.

Using this iPad, I had to log in. Terry, the new look is great for guests! I like it better than what is see as a logged in regular user. And you have good taste in advertisers. The ad on the front page before I logged in is where I was considering buying some rugs. After attempting to try a crossword puzzle, I did buy the rugs. That site where I'd heard of them & I was happy to tell it was Funtrivia. Well, it was the second time I visited that site!

I had a word in the grid highlighted when I turned the easy mode on. One letter in said word was wrong, but I could hardly see it in the bright colouring.

Would it be possible to have a slightly thicker font, please?

Nice.

Only complaint is that there is no lines seperating the cells.

Any chance of eliminating the return to the beginning of a word when it's finished? Also not being able to use space bar to eliminate an incorrect letter?

Apart from the starkness of the page, it works.

Will there be a nice softly shaded area around it eventually?

I'm also hoping that the viewing of crosswords will be made easier on the eyes, similar to the previous Flash-based interface.

Thanks!

I'm having problems with the last letter of every word. I type the whole word and it puts them all in except the last letter. The 'darker green box' stays on the second to last letter. When I put the curser in the last box and click it puts the letter in without me having to type it again. - mind you it means it doesn't go back to the start of the word like the some of you are having smile

I'm playing on a PC on Firefox

I like the pale blue background smile thanks. Play seems to be quite easy and straightforward.

The author's name still doesn't show, however.

It's not live to play yet, this is still testing.

I tried it out on desktop and mobile, worked fine in both versions. I think the entry of clues is smoother than it used to be. Sometimes there was a slight lag in the flash version.

I played the small version. It worked fine, looks good, cursor stays put. The author's name is there, too (middle top).

Must have been just added, it wasn't there when I tried them.

Fixed my problem but I'm finding the letters quite light to see. A Bolder font would be helpful

While I was at it I also fixed crossword printing to stop cutting off the edge of the puzzle.

I'm absolutely delighted with the new format, particularly with regard to the layout of the clues. The problems I'd previously experienced with the presentation of longer clues on certain of my crosswords, whereby the bottom line was often partly obscured, appears to have been eradicated!

I'm not able to comment on the success of the system in relation to solving crosswords as I've yet to attempt this, but I see there is sufficient feedback from others in this respect.

There will undoubtedly be an added enthusiasm in the compilation of my future crosswords, knowing the format has been so enhanced!

looks awesome. Now playing crosswords is actually fun, and not the daunting task it is on Puffin. if you keep adding cherries like this, the sundae is gonna melt before we can get to it!;)

Uh ....

All clues filled in. All are correct. I switched to Easy mode to make sure. On advice from another player, I tapped on every numbered clue where the clue began so it appeared the small 2 or 3 letter clues were filled in on their own and .... Nothing.

Nothing as in I've been look at the filled in crossword puzzle for an hour now. There is no acknowledgement I've filled it in. No whooshing off to another screen telling me Yay! Finally! You got it! Or something similar.

Yes, this is one of Terry's test puzzles. However, when I completed it, I accessed this puzzle from the puzzle directory not from the link here in the Forums.

So. What is supposed to happen when a crossword puzzle is completed?

It takes you to the answer page the instant all letters are correct. At least it should!

What browser / version are you using?
