Sometimes when I return (having left the room open) I get a message saying that whichever room I'm trying to look at isn't available. I clear that by clicking OK on the popup that tells me that, then "more rooms" on the menu. Other than that I've experienced few problems.

I managed to get it to load the first day (I say 'managed' because it took three tries). Since then, I have been unable to get it to load.

Hmm what does it do?

I see the "This is experimental" sentence, and the "This is not moderated" sentence, but that's it... just those two sentences, and the loading circle keeps spinning.

I'm using IE 11 on Windows 7

I love this chat-room, except that I seem to have picked time when nobody else is on it.

I've probably looked in half a dozen times so far, but have also found the rooms virtually empty on most occasions.

I looked once, got intimidated and left. Nothing that anyone said or did, just me getting scared and running away.

I don't quite get the point of this chat room. Is it just random chat?

Well, one of the rooms is the Authors' Hangout, so that can be for talking about ideas and such. On the first day someone needed an Author Challenge title with certain words, so I went and suggested some with those words. That sort of thing could be fun and helpful, if it takes off.

Maybe it's because I log out when finished?

Hmmm I still had to press F5 to get it to load. The hour glass icon just keeps flashing otherwise.

We will give it a one month trial from today and see if people use it. It's possible people will start chatting at a particular time and it snowballs a bit from there.

I think because it is so new, it will take time to get it going. When you look in and nobody is there, you tend to leave. When everybody does that, nobody stays, and it's empty. Sort of a vicious circle.

And then what happened? I dropped in and there were just those two notes at the top of a blank page saying this is not moderated and such. Now what?

I drop in every so often, but no one else ever seems to be there. It's probably a month since I found someone to chat with in there.

Yeah-- I'm not sure the appeal is there. It was bright and shiny for the first little bit, but we just don't have a big pool of people that are interested, and it's not the most convenient on mobile (from what I've found), which is where things tend to be going. Besides that, it goes along at the same time we have group boards, chat boards, forums, etc. It was worth the experiment, at the very least!

I am a tad disappointed it hasnt caught on more as it was fun whenever anyone was in there. I can't speak for everyone especially since mine is an older phone but I too have issues trying to run it on my phone which is my primary access mode.

I usually access FT on a break from work and my firewall doesn't let me get into the chat room.

Ok, I think I'll probably wind down that experiment then.

One day I'll make something where you can both chat and play trivia at the same time.

I tried it a few times, but the biggest issue was not being able to see whether or not anyone else was there. Then I forgot all about it.

When you took out the 'Chat Room' option from the front page menu option that said "Chat/Forums/Chat Room", you left in the star which signified that Chat Room was for Gold Members only. It now reads as if 'Forums' are for Gold Members only.

Seems like the chat room gone???

Any time I went there, no one else was there. But I could never tell what time people had been there since there were no time indicators.
