For the first time this season, the home teams swept the round. The Crusaders ensured their stay at the top, the Reds dented the chances of the Rebels, the Chiefs probably gave themselves a shot at a home quarterfinal, the Waratahs hammered the Sunwolves and the Stormers made it just a little bit more difficult for the Sharks to make it to the play-offs.
Interest around the last round matches will probably revolve around the Sharks and Rebels fighting for the final play-off spot (Brumbies seem to have an outside chance) and whether the Chiefs or the Hurricanes get the home quarterfinal match. The Crusaders and the Waratahs are set to be their conference winners and guaranteed home play-offs, but the Lions probably still need to win their final match too to ensure they get their conference rights.
Our defending champion Howie72 blinked when it mattered the most and is probably out of the medal race. Dizart looks set to regain the title he won in 2016, if he can ward off George95, paper_aero and N-Bomb. paper_aero has a 4 year silver medal streak at stake here....the rest of us can cheer these 5 on in the final round

Like I mentioned in last week's recap, the final round of matches was always going to be if Sharks can upstage the Rebels for the final play-off spot, and which of Chiefs/Hurricanes would get a home quarterfinal. Turned out 6 of the home teams again won the final set of matches, with only Brumbies bucking the trend, which meant the Sharks did sneak into the play-offs at the expense of the Rebels. Not that they will be too pleased, as their immediate reward is a road quarterfinals against the all-rampaging Crusaders. The following is the play-off set up:
Quarterfinals:
Hurricanes v Chiefs
Crusaders v Sharks
Waratahs v Highlanders
Lions v Jaguares
We had a thriller of a last round in our comp, with N-Bomb suddenly deciding to make a run for it. He went on a limb and picked the Brumbies and the Jaguares. One came off and the resulting bonus point helped him tie for the top spot. George95 had a great round too, missing only the Brumbies win and he tied for the top spot too. Dizart just about held on to his top spot this round, but over the season, had done enough to join gtho4, Howie72 and Sypher as the only multiple winners of this competition. On a countback, we separate our three medallists, and for the first time in 5 years, paper_aero missed out a podium spot 
Congratulations then to our podium for 2018: Dizart, George95, and N-Bomb and commiserations to the rest of us.
