This unusual vehicle is the Swedish Stridsvagn 103, or 'S' tank. The Strv 103 entered service in the early 1960s and was withdrawn in 1997. This vehicle was the only post WW2 main battle tank that dispensed with a rotating turret and remains unique in that respect. It was also the first tank to enter service anywhere in the world to be fitted with a turbine powerpack. The Strv 103's gun was traversed by turning the vehicle on its tracks and elevated using the vehicles suspension system with the roles of driver and gunner being performed, again uniquely, by the same crew member. The steel gridwork attached to the front of this vehicle is a form of protection intended to negate the effect of HEAT ammunition.

This may actually look like a piece of junk but is now one of only a few left in Britain of what was a very common sign when I was a child, and replaced by a blue version with small letters in 1964. I had to travel over 100 miles to get this in Dorset.

This is a view of a number of 15th and 16th Century houses in Mill Street, Warwick. It is believed that the headquarters of the Knights Templar in England was located in the vicinity from where I took this photograph.

This is Canonteign Falls, claimed to be the highest waterfall in England near Chudleigh, Devon. Disappointingly they are man-made; but very pretty nonetheless.
