Yeah, that's fine to keep us out. The deadline for this comp was the actual start of the tournament and not some arbitrary deadline (looking at the NFL comp ) . I guess you could score George and I but leave us out of the rankings if we happen to medal. I left this one just a bit too late.

Yeah, that's fine to keep us out. The deadline for this comp was the actual start of the tournament and not some arbitrary deadline (looking at the NFL comp ) . That Thursday thing is 2½ hours prior to kickoff, and the rest has been Friday midnight since I started participating (in 2005!).

+- George95 and gtho4 submitted their picks after the deadline and were scored but not included in the rankings
*- dg_dave finishes second with a #5 score of 289 against Dizart’s 306
1. wwe84 2. dg_dave 3. Dizart
wwe84 put together a dynamite team and completely ran away with the Masters this year, topping the official competition by 8 strokes, with 3 different golfers going under 280 strokes. Congratulations!
George95 and gtho4 unfortunately submitted their picks after the first tee time. George95 put together a great team, which would have finished second. However, it is dg_dave, who wins in a tiebreaker over Dizart, who comes home with silver. dg_dave’s fifth golfer, Adam Scott, shot a 289, while Dizart’s fifth golfer, Alexander Noren, missed the cut and ended with a score of 306.
Nobody took the winner of the Masters this year, Patrick Reed. Reed was tied for 4th after the end of Thursday, but made his way to the top of the leaderboard by Friday, and after Saturday led by 3 strokes over Rory McIlroy. As McIlroy faded on Sunday, Reed held steady and held off Rickie Fowler by a stroke to take home the green jacket.
Jordan Spieth, despite finishing third, was the other big story on Sunday. He came into the round tied for 9th and down by 9 strokes, but birdied the first 2 holes and finished the front 9 at 5-under par, and later added another 4 birdies before bogeying #18 to just miss tying for second and a stroke under the lead.
The All-Not Taken Team consisted of Patrick Reed, Jon Rahm, Cameron Smith, and Henrik Stenson, who would have totaled an impressive 1108.
The U.S. Open this year will be held on June 14-17 at Shinnecock Hills in New York. |
