So I have this challenge that says I have to get 13 some off thousand points in GC but GC ends today at noon. Do I have to use my weekly thing to get a new challenge?

No. The morning GC *set* ends at noon. Then there is the afternoon set. In order to pass the 13,000-odd point GC Difficult Daily Challenge, you have to play *both* the morning set *and* the afternoon set. Of course, you could trade it in if you want to, but that Challenge was designed to make players play both sets. Although this GC run is approaching its conclusion, it will *not* end today at noon. All that will happen at noon today is the morning set will end and the afternoon set will begin, like any other day in the GC.

Do you mean "ending" as the final set of questions in the current game, due to there being 100 Immortals? If that is the case, it is just the luck of the draw, unfortunately. You can buy a new challenge if you want to.

It is *not* the case. The GC run will *not* end today, As I said above. At noon today, the afternoon set will begin. That is all.

The GC is not ending today:

There are currently 82 players who have reached level 10 and become Immortals.
The global challenge comes to an end if this number hits 100.

There are currently 22 Immortals who have never won the Immortal badge before.
The global challenge comes to an end if this number hits 30.

I didn't do very well the first time I attempted the GC because I didn't realize one could play two whole times every day! A subsequent attempt was more successful.

Any chance allowing 45 instead 30 new Immortals?

Highly unlikely as there were discussions about how fewer players are doing the GC and increasing the number of new immortals was not a suggestion.

What I would suggest is work at the current GC and use that experience for the next one and you will make it. That is how it goes for most of us.

I posted this in "Minor Issues" but since this thread is devoted to Daily Challenges, I'm going to post it here, too. Please forgive me if this is overkill.

My Medium Daily Challenge today is to "Score a Word Wizard Gold Member Game word of at least 6 letters."

I entered the word "meridional" for 15 points, but didn't receive credit for this challenge.

Am I reading this wrong? Is it not awarded immediately?

Hope this is an appropriate place to post this question. I know I have seen it discussed elsewhere, but I haven't been able to find the thread.

I'm trying to do a Twin Challenge today, and the difference bbetween my Twin's points and mine is a strange number. Before I would make up these irregular spreads by playing Instaquizzes... but I know they are not available anymore. How do others get one or two points?Or is this just an impossible task now?

Thanks,

Sue

Timed Quiz mode gives you x/6 (rounded) FT points for a certain number of game points. So if you need 1 point, you'd want to finish a timed quiz with 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 game points. Use an old 5Q quiz, get 4 wrong, let the last one time down.

(If you don't want to intentionally get questions wrong can alternatively also just adjust the last digit early by playing quizzes in timed mode and hourlies and then use the quick questions to get a target number divisible by 10 (between 30 and 750). Monster and My Quiz (at easy or hard, not medium) also always yield a score divisible by 10.

Hi, Sue. For me, it depends on how many points I need. If I need a lot, my preferred method is to just play hourlies, mixed, quiz mode, whatever until I happen to get the final digit to either match or be off by five - and this is assuming my Twin is no longer playing.

More difficult, but I have done it twice and it was actually easier than I thought - although I still like some leeway for flubbing up the first time or two. This is the method details on that thread which I don't remember either. I copied it a while back and kept it on a notepad for reference. Thank you very much to whoever posted it (this may even be a combination of two separate posts):

" It's really easy once you get used to it. Basically:
(# of points you want) x 6 = (score to get in topic mash quiz)

To tweak points with topic mash quizzes, just take the number of points you need (say 2 points for a twin challenge), and multiply it by 6. 2 x 6 = 12, so 12 points is your goal in a mash quiz.

It means a lot of clicking wrong answers or waiting for the timer to run out on questions you're not sure of. It's easy but tedious."

I don't even actually really understand that, but it did work for me, so it must have sunk in somehow for me. Good luck!

Oh, good. I was so long in writing that Wes answered with an easier explanation.

I have received this easy challenge for today.

Play a quiz authored by player rblayer and score 6 questions correct.

However when I search for the player I get this message.

That user is no longer active.

Any suggestions anyone?

If you search for rblayer using the box on the homepage, it says they're inactive and then lists all their archived quizzes below.

Yes it worked great from home page but not from a search on profile page.
