Anyone can message Terry privately. That is completely different from saying he was actually contacted in real time. It is downright irritating to have people suggest with absolutely no evidence whatsoever that some sort of disaster may be involved in this. Because if there really were a disaster, since numerous things on FT can be done *only* by Terry, that would be a matter for real concern, not passive reassurances, as it could spiral quickly. As for the Memorial Day business, it should not have been unnoticed by anyone that May 28 was Memorial Day. That is no more of a surprise than that Thanksgiving in America is the fourth Thursday in November. And the longer this goes on, the more commenting in more places you will see. Trying to limit this discussion only to the Forums with the same tired line that Terry rarely reads the Boards is forlorn. The horses have long since left the barn on this one. I personally am not angry at all over the fact that this didn't start when advertised yesterday. But the excuses are quite annoying. Don't know if I've done this quote correctly as I've only been on funtrivia for a few months. However, I don't know when Memorial Day is, nor do I know when you celebrate Thanksgiving, as I don't live in America. I just play funtrivia for the great games and quizzes that are offered. I don't care about dates or excuses. Let's just wait for it to happen and I'm sure it will.

Hey folks, for the past 20 or so GCs I have just chosen a randon Monday ahead as a start time.
Unfortunately the random Monday was Memorial Day this time, which was a holiday that I was unavailable on and had forgotten about.
We will start the GC a day late, so a few hours from now. Apolgies if this inconvenienced anyone.
Thanks, Terry. Glad that it wasn't anything terrible. I would have missed the beginning, and now that you are starting the GC on my birthday, I am sure to win the whole thing! Thanks again, Sue

I'm glad to hear kyleisalive has a real time connection to Terry independent of the messaging system. It may be useful someday. It is good to hear that, if an emergency ever did arise (and I'm glad one didn't this time), Terry can be contacted. I'll be sure to remember that. I'm also pretty good at remembering Monday holidays, so, if, in the future someday, I see the GC is scheduled for Labor Day, say, I can bring that up immediately well ahead of the start date.
I like the upgradadable Immortal badges. My prediction on that is this will increase play of the GC in both modes by past winners. The effect of that will be to make namrewsna's prediction a couple of runs ago to almost certainly come true this run and the succeeding runs, as it will take multiple runs to fully upgrade both badges (and there will be a few "OCD" enough to do just that - perhaps even....), so expect the 30th new Immortal position to go well off the top 100 Normal mode list, which means less than 30 new Immortal badges will be awarded at the end of this run.
Anyway, I apologize for being a pain. Glad Terry wasn't fleeing some hurricane.

I feel like a little kid.
This is the first time I've decided to make an actual run at playing every single set of Globals, and maybe going all the way.
I played the second half of June 2, and advanced a level, but it's not showing up in my stats. Only the first level of June 2 is showing.
Is this common? Did it happen because I advanced when I played my Impossible game?
Or, should I be concerned because it didn't register anywhere but on my home page, and in Globals themselves, showing that I absolutely played? Now it's June 3, and I can't play again, because I already played!
If this is a glitch, I really, really need it fixed. If this isn't a glitch, can someone please explain this to me?
Please, don't let this turn into something that becomes an issue two or three days after the fact, and can't be fixed.
Now I understand why everyone gets so excited about Globals. When you take them seriously, they become really serious!
Help, help, oh help...

I see you with 53 games played which would mean you missed one half day plus a single game so far (or have not yet played this morning). I can't really see anything else, but if you go to http://www.funtrivia.com/minigame/myhistory.cfmyou should see most of your play history for this GC - it shows the last 50 individual FINISHED games, so if you played consistently, you should right now see May 30 and 31 as well as June 1 and 2, plus the last two sets you played on May 29. Note that this will only show finished sets - the June 3 am set will only go up on this page at noon, after it has been scored and ranked.
