1. George95 2. PaulE 3. ElfTwinkle
Italy’s Francesco Molinari emerged from the pack on a thrilling final day at Carnoustie to win the British Open, seeing off the challenges of reigning champion Jordan Spieth and a revived Tiger Woods to win the first major of his career. Molinari produced a bogey-free final round under the most extreme pressure to end eight-under, two strokes clear of the field, and become the first Italian to win a major golf title.
It made sense that only one of us here, George95, even had Molinari in our teams here: in ten previous appearances at the world’s oldest major, the Italian had missed four cuts, and only once had he finished inside the top 10 - back in 2013.
But George95's faith in Molinari paid off, as he won our comp here by a whopping 9 strokes! He strung together a killer team that also included Tiger Woods and Tommy Fleetwood, and is a runaway winner. PaulE takes home a very very respectable silver, 2 strokes ahead of ElfTwinkle, who held off ozzz2002 by just a single stroke for the bronze. Three others are another stroke behind ozzz2002....that's how close the rest of us were behind George95!
The All-Not Taken Team consisted of Kisner, McIlroy ( ), Schauffele and Chappell, who would have totaled a most impressive 1113 (and won our comp by 7 strokes!)
The Next Major on the calendar is The PGA Championships, which will be held between August 9-12 at Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country, Missouri. See you all then! |
