We had a mammoth *five* weekly winners with 7/12 each, which is almost unheard of in this comp .. ozzz2002 scored his first win, leaving PaulE as the lone ranger. There were three wooden spoon awards (it was back-to-back spoons for LeoDaVinci). Two players are still spoon-less: Howie72 and gtho4.
Back in Round 13, we had a 12 point spread across the first six runners. Seven weeks later it's less than half of that .. we now have a mere 5 pt spread across the first six. In other words, we don't have a runaway leader .. as yet.
At the rear of the field ozzz2002 is fighting tooth & nail to avoid finishing the comp in last place. Seven week sago he was 8 pts behind PaulE .. he scored his first weekly win (as noted above) and is now a mere 4 pts in arrears, as PaulE collected a wooden spoon.

Preston North End were thumped 3-0 by Birmingham City, which ended their undefeated run at 9 games. Middlesbrough lost by a similar scoreline, at home to Villa, which ended their undefeated run at 7 games. Rotherham United also saw their undefeated run end at seven with a 3-1 loss away to Norwich City, who are now undefeated in eight. Bolton Wanderers again failed to win, when they were held to a draw at home to Wigan Athletic and are now win-less in ten.

Leeds United came back from 2-0 down after 17 minutes to beat Aston Villa 3-2. The winner came in the 5th minute of stoppage time. This was a 6th consecutive win by Leeds and ended Villa's undefeated run at seven. Brentford finally won, to end their win-less streak at six.

There was no change out front; Dizart is still our leader. Howie72 scored three bonus pts and shaved his margin from 8 pts to 5 pts. The three-way tie for 2nd is no more (the spread over those three is now 5 pts).
Another round of upsets over the holiday season saw 6/12 for the two winners and 2/12 for the three wooden spooners. LeoDaVinci may be running 3rd last but he scored his 5th weekly win for the season (same as the leader Dizart). It was his 3rd win in six wks. wwe84 and gtho4 collected back-to-back spoons.
