Felix This is from a placement test in English from one of the students hoping to enter our school.
It is in the writing section , involving writing a business letter.
In 50 words, write a letter to the MTR Lost Property Office telling them what you have left on a train and asking if it has been found.
Dear MTR Lost Property Office.
Hello to you guys. Are there any chances that your staffs discover a smartphone? If one has been found then maybe it's mine. If I remember correctly, the phone is located on a specific train on the green coloured line.Sorry I really paid no attention to the names on the rail line.Anyway, I was on the very back of the train .I am not sure about the details of the exact train since I never considered that this incident would happen.. I thought a little bit of information could help. You probably wonder why I would write the letter instead of heading to the Lost Property Office. The reason behind this is because I often get lost at MTR stations... it's embarrassing to say the least. If the staff manage to found the phone, please know that I will return to the station and find my way to the office. I forget to mention that my phone brand is OnePlus so that gives you an insight about it,
Sincerely, Oscar.
Lol, Everything is wrong about this letter! No details as to time lost, day, phone number, Oscars name and address ...everything! The Business English is not there and the chatty gossipy language is!
But I spent most of the time giggling and so he is accepted into our school. Hope for the best for dear Oscar!!
