How paranoid are you? You know, people follow me constantly. And they talk about me when I leave the room. And they whisper and point. You too?

SORRY! I was having problems with the Anger Test download so I changed it to Paranoia. Is that a problem for you? You hate me don't you? You tried to take the quiz knowing it wouldn't work, didn't you? I know you like to see me fail. Always plotting, planning, scheming.

Uh-o, there are the voices again. You're just jealous 'cause you can't hear them.

I scored a 65.

Although you're probably not checking your apartment for hidden bugs on a regular basis, you get the occasional suspicion that
whispers in the corridor are about YOU. Essentially, you've got a mild case of paranoia, but it's nothing to panic about. It's human
impulse to have flashing moments of mistrust - no one is immune to such feelings, which have their roots in several other
emotions. Paranoia can stem from trust issues; when, for example, you get all worked up that your special someone is having an
affair because they haven't called. It can also be a reflection of pessimism; you tend to think the worst and it leads to negative
expectations. Paranoid thoughts can also come from flashes of insecurity; you wonder if you're good enough and feel anxious
that others feel the same way. Overall, these feelings are generally not harmful if they are in moderation - and depending on how
you react to them. Hire a private eye every time your spouse works late, however, and you're on the road to ruin!

I scored 15, which means:

Congratulations! Your score showed that you don't have many flashes of paranoia, which can only be a good thing. Why do you seem to have a handle on the distrustful impulse, while others struggle to ignore that nagging inner voice? Well, mild cases of paranoia stem from several issues; trust, pessimism and insecurity just to name a few. You appear to have a sufficient level of trust in other people, so you don't freak out and assume the worst when your love interest forgets to call. And since your self-esteem is likely strong, you're not plagued with doubts about other people slamming you behind your back or conspiring to get you. Your optimistic nature also plays a role by keeping your thoughts focused on the best possible scenario; when the boss wants to talk to you, for example, you think you might be getting a promotion instead of the heave-ho. This is a healthy approach to life; why waste your time worrying!

I think that's generally spot on. But it's interesting that, as with the etiquette test, the specific examples don't fit. In the etiquette test I was told that I might occasionally snoop in someone's medicinre cabinet (which I wouldn't). Here I was told that I wouldn't assume that a summons from the boss means trouble (when I specifically said that I would).

Tabby: I wouldn't put too much faith in these tests (even though people DO whisper about me, then point and stare). These are meamt mostly for fun, but reveal some basic personality truths too.

So you're a closet cabinet searcher, it doesn't matter. Come on, admit it. You'd be in my medicine cabinet so fast the industrial strength Prozac would spin!

Valois! You screwed up that first part just for ME, didn't you! You just wanted to see how I'D react to that, didn't you! Why I'm surprised you didn't wait for blue, too, before switching things for everyone else! Part of that secret "TWIN" study WE KNOW you're conducting. I KNOW things!

Hold on...I'm adjusting my tin foil helmet...new transmissions from Uranus incoming...hold on.....

OK OK...

Took the Paranoia test...and scored 40. So I'm not as bad as I thought. I hesitated on a question or two, like, say, the one about if you are the first one to leave a dinner, do the others talk about you! I'm sure they DO! I would...but I think that's just human nature and I don't worry about it! I put NO to that one...so maybe I skewed the results!

Although I'm not at all paranoid - there's no way I'm taking this test! I know that They will record my score and it will be on some huge government database along with all those tapes of my telephone conversations and my postings on FT. But I am working on lining my brain with aluminium foil so that, at least, they won't be able to read my thoughts.

45 for me on this one.
Yeah, I guess I am a little paranoid, who wouldn't be, with all those satellites watching my every move, and the bugs in my home and phones, and don't get me started on the computer, I swear there's a little guy inside who notes every site I visit and, and...
I need a good disguise.

I got a 55 on this one. I'm relieved to find out I'm not as paranoid as I thought I was. Now I will be up all night worrying about all the years I wasted worrying about everything when I didn't have to, because I'm not actually paranoid. That will lead to thinking that maybe the test was DESIGNED to make you think you aren't paranoid so they can do things to your mind without you worrying that they are..........
