Enormous study results are in, and the more a woman breastfeeds a child or two, the lower the incidence of breast cancer.
They did an enormous sample, can't find a link this morning on here as it was in my newspaper. Over 100,000 women were tested.
The Scandinavians nursed their infants longer, many had a one year maternity leave.
The French rarely went over three months.
This is probably the most conclusive evidence done on such a large sampling.
For once there was good health news for me! They have calculated the percentage rates per child and per month, it makes me happy I managed to keep it up while working.
Up till now we knew of the benefits for the infants, but this is the best news for the moms.

Well I feel good about this. I feed ny daughter for 15 months and her brother for 18 months which means I am reasonably safe

Yeah Kuu! THough I really don't cast a stone at any mother's solution no matter what, (mothers do what they have to do) I really support those of us who have managed in the face of criticism. Though you might think it's the contrary guilt trips for those who don't do it, keeping it up isn't easy.
My mother's going to be thrilled at this study, the woman who nursed four infants is going to be very well off statistically speaking! Plus she did it in the late fifties when it was not the thing to do and she got constant flak.

I spent three years of my "reproductive life" nursing between my two. I think you and I are the same.
Now if I could find some stats that aren't too biased one way or the other. Not easy.

La Leche League is a good organization folks, but they are pretty...well, militant, and when you work some of them aren't too keen on your method. It all depends. I got some help from them the first time, but it depends on the chapters.
