Have you ever watched a movie and noticed obvious mistakes that for some reason were not corrected? Like the scene in "Casablanca" when Humphry Bogart and Ingrid Bergman were standing in the rain, and in the very next scene their clothes are totally dry? Or in "Titanic," when Kate Winslet hands Leonardo DiCaprio a Roosevelt nickel? Or "Elephant Walk," when Elizabeth Taylor replaced Vivien Leigh (Viv suffered a complete emotional breakdown during filming), yet some of the distance shots are obviously Leigh not Taylor. Or in "Gone With the Wind," during the barbecue nap scene when Scarlett sneaks downstairs to confront Ashley, in each scene Scarlett is wearing, then isn't wearing, a pink coral necklace.
Damn, I gotta get some outside interests. This is either really scary or really pathetic. What can I say? I notice things.

I don't normally notice mistakes unless I have seen a movie lots of times and so I am genarally immune to these sorts of things. Unfortunately though, I have seen LoTR many more times than is healthy for a girl... maybe hobbits have a sort of magnetic pull or something... In the scene where the Nazgul horse and rider comes along the lane to stop above the heads of the hobbits (who were hiding under the tree roots), the horse approached from the right of the screen and materialised on the left side of the tree without first passing across the right hand side of the tree (if that makes any sense... I know what I mean!). It bugs me far more than is healthy....

And don't forget that much publicized one from the Godfather -- the 50 star flag was used instead of the 48 star flag.

In the movie Just Visiting, Julia comes into the office with black shoes. Then she walks out with white shoes, and goes back in with black shoes.
In the original Star Wars, in the Death Star, the Storn Troopers are coming down a corridor, just after C3PO and R2D2 have been found. On the right side of the door, the tallest Storm Trooper hits his head on the overhead door way. In Gone With the Wind, it shows a lamp with an electric cord, something you wouldn't have seen at the time setting of 1860s.

Anybody who's watched Happy Gilmore knows he gets hit by a Volkswagon Beatle then it crashes into a tower. Well, several minutes before that scene ever happens they show an overhead shot of a golf hole and u can clearly see the Beatle crashed against the tower. Just something I picked up after watching it for the 500th time.

Oh my gosh! I could list these for hours! It drives people nuts that I watch movies just for the mistakes. In 'It's a Wonderful Life" during the scene where George, Bert and Ernie are talking by the taxicab, and Violet walks by, the same woman walks by twice, and touches her hat both times. In the scene from "A Christmas Story" where Ralphie's mom is basting the turkey, there is a jar of pickles sitting on the table. During the same scene, she comes up from the cellar with a jar of pickles, and sits it on the table, where the original jar had been. In "A League of Their Own", Dotti's husband bob is sitting with a group of other soldiers in the stands during the scene where the "catch a foul, get a kiss" banner is walked across the field. This scene is long before he returns from war.
Anyone who loves reading about movie bloopers can check out slipups.com There are thousands of them, and the movies are alphabetized so it makes it easier to look for movies by title.

In the movie "Carny", Jodie Foster is talking to Gary Busey in his trailer, and you can see someone holding a white microphone (rather shakily) on the bottom of the screen.
In the movie "Beloved" three of the characters are in town and they buy a glass of lemonade to share. Two of the characters each take a long drink, and when they pass the glass to the last character, the glass is full again!

Flapjack, I believe that in LoTR the tree scene is shot so that the road comes from the back of the screen forward and turns, not that the road runs along behind the tree. Then the horse rider would have no need for crossing the right hand side of the screen. Of course, that's not how it has to be. Just voicing an option.

Speaking of LOTR - you can see Legolas with his arrows stored in his backpack many times, and there's just about six or seven of them. Yet Legolas always has arrows to spare, and he keeps shooting about ten arrows in a row at the orcs. Where does he get all these? I don't think that he could pick some arrows during the travel on the Anduin...

In the 1960 classic "Psycho", after Jnet Leigh's character dies in the shower, we see her corpse with contracted pupils. Your pupils dilate on death; Leigh's pupils reacted to the strong lighting. Hitchcock didn't catch it until after the film's release! (BTW, Anthony Perkins was acting in a Broadway play at the time, so a stand-in "committed" the most famous murder scene in cinema!)

In the movie "Bull Durham", close inspection reveals that the character of Crash Davis, the worldly-wise washed-up bush leaguer, is not in fact played by an "actor" (as normally would be the case) but is rather portrayed (and I use the term loosely) by Kevin Costner, who while a most handsome fellow, unfortunately appears to be neither an "actor", nor, for that matter, alive.

I go to slipups.com often. I have submitted a few and they were put on the site, but it is hard to get them submitted because they have such a huge amount being submitted.

"Moulin Rouge!" has the only movie mistake I can remember off the top of my head. The Duke's bodyguard has a scar on his face. When Satine mistakes Christian for the Duke, they pan back and forth between Satine, Toulouse and the bodyguard, and then to Christian. Almost every time they pan to the bodyguard, his scar is on the opposite cheek. It's on the left... no, it's on the right... no, the left... Yeah, I need a life.

Logan, you reminded me of one of the Indiana Jones pictures...maybe it was Young Indiana Jones, I can't remember for sure. But Indy was one top of a train, I believe, fighting with someone and in one shot he had a cut on one side of his face and in the next shot the cut was on the other side. Funny how what you said flashed that picture in my head but I now remember laughing when I saw that.
