Wow. If this is for real, I hate to say it but, I hope it ends in miscarriage. Or maybe the "aliens" could take these nuts back to Mars with them.

In reply to:

A BioFusion spokesman, Kwak Gi-Hwa, told the BBC that the woman was two months into her pregnancy.

Kwak sounds a bit close to "Quack" for my liking!!

This question I'm going to ask can only be answered by those who believe that God is the author of human life and that He created life (otherwise what's wrong with cloning??), but if these humans are cloned, created entirely by MAN - would they have a SOUL?? With no soul, what are they going to be?? It's scary.

Who knows?!? Whether or not this even works, I'm sure we'll find out soon. It was bound to happen at one time or another.

Besides the religious arguement, what's wrong with cloning?! Plenty! I'm not up on all the facts, but I've heard that there is a commercial population of genetically engineered salmon held in captivity. They were "constructed" to be larger than the average for obvious reasons, but they had shorter lives and had reproductive problems. They are kept in captivity to keep them from mating with the general population for fear of passing on their defective genes into the next generation, which could lead to sterilization, thus extinction.

Picture that scenario, among all the others that could result from this experiment. No need to get urbane on this one, it's just plain stupid to clone someone. I really doubt that it will work though, and it WAS unavoidable.

I'm certain that, whether it's actually happening now or not, we will eventually clone an entire human being, and yes, he or she will have a soul. After all, when 'natural' clones are born---identical twins, triplets, etc.---each individual has a soul of his or her own---don't they? (*grin*)

I agree. Like most media stories this reflects an obssession with novelty. There are many more important things to worry about in the world but because they are boring or require the wealth-saturated West to spend some money sensibly for a change you can be sure that Rupert Murdoch et al are not going to trouble us much with it. I personally hardly bother with the so-called "News" anymore. One year I stopped listening, watching or reading it entirely. I was a little worried I might be "Out of touch". Huh ! More in touch actually. just look at the TV "News" today or any day, you don't need a crystal ball to predict it. Firstly, there are only 3 countries in the world. You may have thought there were 300 or so. Oh no. There's the UK, USA and Israel. Forget the rest. Nothing happens there unless we are at war with it. Then someone will be murdered in an unusual way. That story will run for months. Forget the 2 million a week who die (often prematurely) completely unnoticed.
