Whoa! Smartest changed without warning!!

Interesting names for the divisions! I had to go to Piece of Cake to see if the same thing happened there (naming the divisions).

Normally, I am one of the people who hate when the site changes. This time, I'm going to see how it goes, whether it places me fairly, etc.

The naming of divisions was good. Is the plan to change all the hourly games this way -- into the dynamic divisions?

Yes, with the exception that Expert will have a champion division for previous winners of the current topic.

How about "The Smarty Pants" as the name of one of the Smart Divisions?

I hope not. I don't like that name, which has a sarcastic edge to it.

Besides, Smarty Pants is already used in the Global Challenge. I think all the names should be unique to avoid confusion.

Once Word Wizard goes live with Divisions the hundredths of a second may be needed for that game, lots of ties there. It's going to be a struggle with all the big scorers in that game.

Weird error with divisions in the Smartest game going to 4 during low-traffic hours. It says I'm in division 3 but my scores are showing up in division 4.

My scores didn't show up at all. I was supposedly in division 4, but could only find my score via clicking All. It turned out that I was in division 6 for that hour, but the system hadn't caught up. I think this happened in PoC, too, in the early days.

When I go to my "I'm the Smartest" challenge page it isn't showing how many points I have. The others do, e.g. "You have scored xx winner points so far."

It's still happening Terry. The switchover to fewer divisions must be happening in the middle of the game, not at the top of the hour as it should.

Another glitch....I've just checked my results for the smartest game. This is what appeared.

Hourly: Hard Game General Feb/05/19 10:15 PM 10 / 10 946 In progress -- In Progress
Hourly: Hard Game Geography Feb/05/19 8:04 PM 10 / 10 948 245 86 1 / 7
Hourly: Hard Game General Feb/05/19 7:06 PM 10 / 10 952 245 95 1 / 20
Hourly: Hard Game General Feb/05/19 5:14 PM 8 / 10 698 In progress -- In Progress

The game played at 5:14 pm still shows as "in progress" for some reason.

Similar story here. It says "You are currently in Division 2" but the score appears in Division 4.

Yep, Day/Night has been out of whack for a number of games. I'm entirely rewriting that code right now to hopefully fix them all at once.

I like the new system of having six divisions based on how well or badly we play the quizzes in each tournament, such as Smartest, Easy, Mixed, Word Wizard. Those competitions became so that they had a disproportionate number of people playing in the champions divisions. This should even it out and make it more interesting. It would be good if there was a way of making the champion division more interesting in the Whose the Expert, such as champion of champions, or the number of champion wins in each subject.

It seems to be working fairly for me, too. Based on my ELO rating, I predicted I should be in Division 1, and there I've sat. tongue laugh

Terry, on the Smartest "Winners" page, the high score for each set is no longer given to show the winner of the Smartest of the Smart badge. Is it possible to put that back in please? Many thanks!

And shortly after I posted it, I was bumped up to Division 2. Yet I have zero winner points in Smartest.

Additional problem: There's no way to see ALL the results from the previous hour on one page anymore. If you click on "All" from the main page and then click on "last hour's results", it takes you to a blank page.
