On another note, how about implementing more precision in times for Word Wizard, similar to Piece of Cake? Even differentiating between a tenth of a second would help reduce the "first player" advantage.

And increase the disadvantage to those outside North America even more? I did a "tracert" the other day when the hundredth of a second measurement was first mentioned. At various times of the day it took 1-2 seconds to get to the first server in the USA let alone to FT; that's a serious problem for people trying for fast times.

I agree latency is a problem that can't go away. But if you're facing delays of 1-2s, those issues are going to hurt non-NA players even if the precision continues to be at the 1s level.

Yeah floppy... it really isn't going to change what's already "unfair" geographically. Are there really a lot of time ties in that game? If so it's an easy switch to increase the precision.

I feel the ties are most common in Fifty-Fifty (Easier set), Word Wizard, and oddly enough, Global Challenge/Expert. But you have access to all the stats and can determine empirically which games get the most ties. As a player, my gut tells me there's an advantage to going first in the games I mentioned. In particular, I've noticed a bunch of good players trying to play 50/50 Easy as soon as it opens to win the tie-break.

The division system looks like it is REALLY working well in this game. Big differences between times across all divisions. Seems like a much better experience for a lot of people.

I appreciate that you can't make the latency better, Terry, but making the times more precise seems like making it worse. I won't affect me particularly as I'm not speedy, but it must be off-putting for players who are to have yet another hurdle to overcome.

It's not really though. With high latency you're just as likely to get rounded up to a longer time as down. Having more accurate times doesn't really have an effect.

Do you mean that the lower divisions are slower, than the upper divisions, or do you mean that there are greater differences in time between the fastest and slowest persons within a division? confused

In the Word Wizard results (http://www.funtrivia.com/myresults.cfm?gametype=3), it no longer shows the letter awarded for gold members. I'd like to have that info back.

Terry, it's different, but not completely fixed. Now it says "Word Game" but it doesn't show the letter I won.
